They are mostly FIGJAM's RM. Good at crawling/greasing up and their favourite subject is themselves.

Was at a function last night & these types were discussed at length. 95% of them gone within months because they were afraid of hard work. The only ones still there are because they lead from the front by example, not direct traffic from a back office or a telephone.

It is funny tho Nightjar that they have no problem with their silver tongue getting yet another gig somewhere.

Hard work ethic is disappearing & "teflon people" are taking their place.

No Teflon Queen would last 5 seconds in most people's jobs.

Thanks in my opinion is owed to the education system and their insistence for higher education beit VCE/HSC with the aim for tertiary study/qualifications. Truth of the matter is as everyone has expressed, quality and reliability is achieved and maintained through hard work and due diligence beit as an individual or team the result is the same.

The successive governments from the 1980's (my era of limited comprehension, how can we comprehend continual idiot ideologies one after the other ) onwards are to blame.

Yes, we had a supervisor we aptly named "The paper cut out" Attended every meeting going and more and never uttered a word. Never went out into the plant and as you mention fwdoz did his limited supervicing from his office. He didn't last long...........
Sounds like one we had who was told a D11 dozer was a 24 volt system so he spent 3 hours on the phone trying to order "24 volt batteries"

Funny how his resume claimed he had 15 years experience as a heavy plant maintenance workshop manager.

I drove through Sydney last week , Ferrers Rd near Eastern Creek had 14 cars abandoned on the side of the road due to multiple blown tyres from hitting potholes , some had the entire wheel ripped off or bent at an ugly angle.

And thats just the ones that were abandoned , hate to imagine how many limped home or already got towed.
