Damn that's a beauty. What made you pick that spot??
It's fine with dry blower as ya just fill the hole with waste material coming out of machine. Fun times
Gotcha with open cut style. Cheers again

no i spoke to head of dpi and asked the said unless you are told by parks to fill it in you can leave it open but you must make it noticeable and camp/be near by. if you wore to just leave it and not come back for a day or so then you will be held responsible because its left open. I asked lots of questions at dpi in Melbourne so I know quite well what you can and can not do under a miners right. but having said that ive just saved some prospectors fuel money and time to go into the city to find out what the real laws are under the miners right

I am greatly 7nterested in the method employed to engage such a feat. Can you assure me this was conducted under the conditions as outlined within a miners right, or is this being conducted under a differing set of circumstances?

I commend any hand dug workings to the depth you have indicated but in in conducting such a feat it must be over a long period of time, by a tenacious individual, or multiple individuals!

Panda I can assure you it was picked and shovelled by me and with buckets lifted out by missus then dry blowing shared by both of us. It took 2.5 days of sweat but it's entirely achievable. It is the thought of it that stops ya doing it. Having the time to do it without full time job is massive help otherwise it's a weekend egoist which seems even more out of reach. We haven't hit it rich yet but with perseverance I'm sure we will :D

Clearly then I can only lament you are not employed by a private enterprise. I am familiar not only with those employed to do excavation works both mechanical and non mechanical but also from a project co-ordination postion from a previous time, pipe and tank laying over various sizes and distances. Im certainly intrigued all the same, I can only envisage what you might achieve when tasked. The renumeration in such pursuits may surprise you!

So do they expect ya to bust your butt digging each day just to fill it before you leave each day? Even though I intend to fill it after I'm done ( 3 days) ? Do they not want us to find gold?

Panda, I wish mate! I'd take it in a heart beat
TA for petroleum qualified and appointed plumber. Diesel works is perhaps the simpliest method, these positions however will not appear in the newsprint or online best to seek them and be keen. Obtain an excavator competency and you would be on your path to travel and and a better figure in your weekly account. If I knew you personally I would give you some numbers to call but if you are as tenacious in that area as your botoming works I dont forsee too many issues in you finding the right door to knock on in time from your own drive and initiative.

Sounds fair. Good to know. If I'm not there every day some chancer might get that nugget that I did the hard yards for. Took this weekend off hehe rained a bit last night so will leave it dry

Thats not the case mate read the terms and conditions of your miners right you dont need to speak to anyone its written in the terns you accepted when you paid the fee. You must repair any damage done to land before you leave.

Fill in your holes guys.... shaft...takings or detector hole its all the same rules

no not true you are aloud to work the spot but must fill it in if you are told to do so by parks vic or dpi or when your finished with all the digging. you are aloud to work it but you have to be doing it almost every day and when your not there you have to put some tape or something around your hole to make it noticeable to others due to (ohs) reasons

Hty seriously mate the advice your offering hete is waay out. Please if you are considering digging a hole and have questions contact the dpi. Read the terms of your miners right.

You spoke to a guy who hands out miners rights. Thats great is he the guy who is going ti fine a prospector on the day? ?

I know what i need to about this game mate i know dpi parks and nearly every ranger around here. Ive also seen them write tickets out and ive filled other blokes holea in so parks dont kick up a stink. Like i said think what you want but when it comes to people asking what they are allowed to do under their minera right i advise everyone check the terms of your permit. If in doubt i suggest you speak to.

Im not having a dig at you hty people are going ti get different answers depending on who they speak to and if someone wants to write you a ticket they will refer to the rules of your miners right. Which states you must repair any damage caused during your search for minerals prior to departure.
