Spent a couple of hours down the beach this arvo , started on the waterline around 6 , low tide 6:30pm
I was very surprised at the amount of pull tabs/ring pulls, not expected where i was finding them(foul play?)

Has that flawless diamond appeal about it Sandta,.. maybe it was accidentally dropped with all those pull tabs/ring pulls,... by someone ?????(the plot thickens).

They may have fallen out of someone's pouch as they were detecting(to make room for more coins and jewellery), maybe someone has an even betterer detector that we've never ever heard of before, some crazy inventor maybe that will never share his secrets(just a theory) and would rather take them to the grave,... it's probably got some worm type retrieval method(like a doctors instrument) that pushes its way through the sand to grasp the target and bring it to the surface(leaving only a small hillock of spaghetti like sand if anything at all, as a clue to him having even been there in the first place),... much akin to what happens in a colonoscopy to get rid of a blockage(large coin).Any time you hit a beach with no targets at all(except pulltabs/ringpulls) you could bet your bottom dollar(the colonoscopy coin) that old crazy has been there already and ripped anything out down to about six feet deep. If your finding anything at all it's probably that you've scared him off,... and he was the guy leaving the beach just as you got there(couldn't even tell he had a detector with him, could you ?).

Hey PT , i just soaked it in vinegar/salt to get the sand encrusted off it. Bit of a scrub with a stiff brush.
Luckily, this time, could make out the date.(on the half penny)
In my experience this is seldom a successful exersise  but it may depend on the quality of the vinegar
( it didnt work for the penny found on the same hunt. Too far gone :( )

Back again for the low tide...
$1.30 ,watch case (aquatech.....how appropriate  ) and 2 rings - 1 silver, 1 junk(aluminium i think)

Missing the stone...

Crappy pic ... but it is 925

A few more pull tabs/ring pulls and a couple of chunks of lead

The top of an old cream tube

Pink zink I presume(for the tube end), and I bet it would have been a ripper stone in a big chunky silver ring like that one, either blue or red by my imagining(but I could be wrong(ha)). Good to see those rings starting to surface again though.

PINK ZINC .... i remember those days .
Used to kick and scream when the brown ran out ... "NO MUM, NO ... PINK IS FOR GIRLS"

Yeah, I hated the feel of it, thick and yuck,.... Mum never said it came in brown(darn)(ha). Those were the good old nipper days.

The Aquatech looks very 70-80's era (or just a not so waterproof repro), though the 925 ring should clean up ok - electrolysis? :)

Went down after work this arvo ....
Things have changed quite dramatically in the past 7 days...
There is at least 3' of sand on top of what was exposed a week ago
Covered a fair chunk of ground, filled the lungs with lots of fresh air , saw some beautiful scenery ;)
Found 2 pull tabs , dug 2 bottle caps ..... And ... Got a 50c coin
Hopefully the weather up north will bring a bit of action to our coast over the next few days

Spent a couple of hours down the beach after dinner
I think that about 12" of sand has been removed since my last visit
Its a not an exact science ... Can only judge by the amount of rocks exposed/covered
Not a lot of finds for the area covered
925 ring for the first target was an encouraging start ...
$2.20 , bottle cap and a beaver tail finished the hunt

Cant see the photos on this cheap little phone, but, it sounds to me like your silver snozz is starting to develop quite well, first target and all being silver, sounds like you walked straight onto it, or was that just luck or what ! Silver.

Havent been to the beach for a while so thought id have a go this arvo, hoping the phone didnt ring, as im 'on call' again
thought a stroll on the beach might make me feel better after getting heatstroke at work today....( IT DIDNT )
I didnt last an hour :(
