Ive been having trouble posting lately as i have no internet at home.
( the real trouble is convincing the 'impossible to understand' call centre operator )
Fair dinkum ... Why should i have to press '1' for english?
Low tide times are pretty favourable this week , so have had a few hunts , however , the majority of finds have been recent drops higher on the beach.
$2.30 was the total for sunday, but did manage to find and return a lost wedding ring.
Mondays tally was $3.45
Today (tuesday)was looking like another pathetic result just as the last couple of days ,until my last two sweeps... $6.50 in one hit and $3.70 in another

Tell us the story of the lost and found wedding ring Sandta - was the owner present on the beach and ask you to look or ????

Ok then... Ill also spill the beans about the old blokes watch too then ... Shall i,
Sunday arvo , got to the beach about 5:30 , there were still heaps of people. Started down at the waters edge , ansd had made 2 zig zag passes ( due to the people , not my technique)
This old bloke comes up to me and asks if i could help find his watch ... So i asked where were you ? Where do i start looking? Oh ... Um ... Was the reply ... %# me ! Here we go...
He gave me a general area ( up in dry sand), after no luck i widened the search , still no luck after about 30 mins , he was watching from the steps , he said oh maybe i didnt bring it with me after all.
 i just walked away
I made another pass down lower on the beach when 2 young girls about 16 ( in bikinis ... Well it is the beach) came up and asked if i could help find a wedding ring... How could i refuse? I followed them... ;) up to the volley ball nets where a large youth group play every sunday arvo . About 20 people all on hands and knees( bums in the air) looking for this ring. I thought i was looking for a girls gold ring  turns out to be a gents ring , tugsten , they said ....again started looking in the area they were but found nothing. I expanded the search and found it about 3 meters away on the other side of the net. As i held it up they all let out the biggest cheer :p
Damn it was a bloody big ring... Was loose on my finger ... Then this 'man mountain' stepped up and said thanks. He was probably only 20ish i guess . I hadnt even seen him in the crowd , he was sitting over at the edge with his head down so upset that he had lost it. The look on his face when he got it back was priceless ... My hand is still recovering from the hand shake
I still only ended up with $2.30 for the arvo , but to do a good deed is very rewarding, especialy when you feel the gratitude

excellent story - hopefully next time they see you they'll think "he's a good bloke", and in fact you are.

Well done mate,.. sounds like there were rings in the air all over the place,...woulda been hard getting your coil on the sand,..a good deed done very well indeed,...and an adventure !

Back to the beach this arvo...( wednesday)
Again , not very productive , $6.90 for about 3 hours exercise

Actually i did find another 20c... It was the first find ... I gave it to the little girl that was following me around ... i had to give it to her as she was more disappointed than i was that my first 3 finds were pulltabs , and when a coin came out she was so excited that i had found real treasure. ( and she finally stopped following me)
The bracelet, unfortunately, is just a junker

Thursday arvo... Thought id try another beach for a change

$2.80 in crusty's from the steep cut away
$1 in the dry sand
10c while 'carefully' wading about knee deep
Im not sure what the rock type thing at the bottom of the pic is... Was about 12" down in coarse gravel/sand , but it sure does react well :p its not very heavy , its not soft , i thought maybe aluminium ... But i cant scratch it ... Its harder than that .
Maybe its just a rock that goes off

It's either a feast or famine re beach detecting, especially with so many people turning to the beach vs parks in search of a few $$ during the summer months. Still a few coins around if you want to spend the time picking out the harder to get finds. :)

Friday arvo ... Got to the beach about an hour before low tide, so started in the dry sand ,at the smaller section of the beach, as i could see the old bloke ( Gday Ron .... He's a lurker at the moment) up the other end of the beach already hard at it .
I got $5.60 in the dry before moving down to the waters edge as the tide dropped where i scored $5.10 in one scoop. ;)
The rest were scattered randoms in the wet sand up the other part of the beach.

14 to 13 Sandta,...the coin tally comes out above the junk,...ding ding ding ding ding,....you're on FIRE.

Spent 2 hours down the beach this evening. ( Tuesday night)
Low tide was about 8:30 ... Got there just before 8... Started below the high tide line and worked down to the water.
Gee there has been lot of sand deposited, low on the beach ,since my last visit... Id say about 3 foot since last friday.
Only found 3 coins in that zone( 2x 50c and 1 x10c)
Went back to where i started and worked up into the dry sand for the rest of the coins

Gday all, i havent been out much lately for various reasons...saying that... i did get a little park hunt in the other day.
Today i finally got back to the beach for a late arvo hunt(Tuesday)
A little late for the low tide , not that it really mattered , the swell was washing a fair way up the beach making it virtually impossible to work down low.
The local beaches were finally opened today after being closed for a record 10 days due to monster sharks, but ironically closed today due to dangerous conditions.
Hopefully these conditions will strip away some of the sand that has been building up over the last few of weeks.
Anyway $5.95 for my efforts, a bit of exercise and some very beautiful scenery 8)
