A very healthy looking outing Sandta, can you take a picture of the top side of the bangle, particularly the bumps around the topside. Apparently in the late 1800's to early 1900's, jewellery makers were allowed to use two hallmarks vs the single hallmark we have today. So some of the bangle may be 18k gold (thinking some of the features are 18k), but a majority of it may be .925 silver, though hard to tell from that photo.

Don't think it would have anything to do with plating, or rolled gold, or otherwise it would be marked as such, could be wrong though.

Maybe SA_Bogan could enlighten us with his knowledge. :)

Nice finds Sandta - looks like silver but let the detector tell you - gold is a low sound on the sovereign while silver is high sounding ...

From what I have read so far, two hallmarks such as what you have indicate mixed metals vs plating. Once again it is a bit hard to tell from the colour in the photos, but the round nodules on the bangle may be gold (I see one is missing), but the main part of the bangle should be silver. That's my guess anyway. :)

Talked to a jeweller today about the bangle & 2 hallmarks, they seemed to think it is plated, so just as confused as ever. :|

Re the bangle ... No matter what it is , its in my kit , and im still grinning :D
Excited by the possibilities of that bangle i hit the beach again yesterday arvo
Fortunately the thunder and lightning passed by quite quickly , then dodging the rain, i got lucky again

Smashing it. That's the sort of inspiration we can all use. Good luck to you, hope there's a few more under the coil soon. Great share. :D

Silver everywhere Sandta, got that Sovereign going along nicely now. Regardless of the metal, I love the moment you find a ring, certainly gets the heart going. :)

Gone for two minutes(net issues(kids on holidays)),...come back on line and your a ringmaster,........well done Master Sandta,...very well done indeed,.... "P R O U D" buddy,... "P R O U D".

After nearly doing myself damage in the heat this morning i decided to hit the dry sand at the beach late this arvo. I got there around 7 pm and there was still heaps of people about.
I wasnt alone ... Another bloke i see regularly arrived about the same time. After a bit of a chat he went one way and i the other.
Not sure how he went .... Im pretty happy with my results though :D
