Sterling one is thinnest I've ever seen. Still put that stone under my UV light looking for any flourecsance, was wasting my time doing so though, soon as I saw the plating I thought glass or Amethyst.... .
Hit a park today that I haven't detected in quite a while, found my first gold ring there a couple of years ago. Was a sl;ow start with nothing bot screw caps, then detected around the kids play equipment and the goldies started flowing. Got a dog tag with sapphire, must be a manufactured stone, couldn't be real.....Pretty chunky sterling ring also and a silver plated religious pendant.
Hit the old honey hole this arvo for a couple of hours to clear the cranium, the sportsfields have been under water for the last 2 weeks, starting to drain off a bit now, I continued on from where I left off and wasn't disappointed. 5 silvers, a couple of half penny's and about $20, plus a lead toy soldier, last but not least is a sterling silver earing.
Well hunted Heatho, great on the silvers ,... trick of the light makes it look like a doozy of a gash.
wonder what nationality the soldier is (asian)? 8)
You don't miss a thing mate, that gash is real, no light trick, I was a bit over enthusiastic retrieving the coin, really nailed it. Was much more careful with the rest of them. Interesting soldier, will have to look into it and see where it's from, I didn't notice any stamps in it.
