To be honest mate I don't think I'll need one lol. Had the CTX set to "High Trash" target separation and "Recovery Fast" yesterday and it performed extremely well. This was with the 11" coil on a very trashy area, I could only imagine how much better again it would be in tightly packed junk with the Coiltek 10x5. I'm going to get a 10x5 soon, will be using it on the goldfields as well as trashy parks, I know a few spots where you can't even get a GPX or SDC coil within a foot of the ground there is that much decomposing iron flakes and other trash, hopefully the CTX will shine on those spots.

I have made a goldies only program too but I might edit it to do silver coins at the same time, it works very well, stops all other signals and only picks up goldies and anything which falls into the same target ID range, saves me from listening to a lot of noise in junk infested areas.

Maybe one day I'll get a Deus but not until I've paid off the CTX.

Was a hard decision for me to make too Rod, was agonising over it for weeks but after using Barney's etrac and getting to know it I was sold on FBS. I'm still only scratching the surface on settings but getting a good grasp of it.

Either way mate they are both great detectors and I'm sure neither of them would let you down.

Mate one thing I have found quickly is when silver is amongst the heavy trash and discrimination on you will miss them. A Goldie program works really well on shallow coins but I have dug a lot of suspect tones that have turned out to be silver that the disc has blanked out.

Got out amongst it again today, started where I finished up yesterday, did pretty good again getting into the silver in junk infested ground, 11 pennies, 1 half penny, 1 florin, 3 sixpence and a junk ring, it gives a silver target ID but I'm pretty sure it's not silver. Another big pile of BB's too, must have been raining BB's at this spot.....

Cheers fellas, been putting in quite a few hours to get aquainted with the new detector.

Was sitting at traffic lights on the way home and a golf ball hit my cars bonnet, was from the golf course near where I've been detecting, not happy at all, at least the club said they would pay forthe damage. Have to go and get 2 quotes in the morning now. Someone's gonna get killed being hit by a ball there one day.....

Poor XR6, yeah was soo grumpy about it, lucky for the golfer I never saw who hit the ball, but....... accidents happen though so a bit more chilled about it now. Must happen regularly there, as they were very casual about the whole thing, I was fuming.

Hmmm not bad idea PaulMarr. Though I think all the rich people that are members there would only carry credit cards...

Have to get in there 1 night with my pick and shovel with the GPX5000 and dig every target..... Nah just jokin...... Would certainly make a mess though if I did, lol.

Yeah digging up live ammo always makes me edgy, especially when using a pick. I'm not that keen on digging up hand grenades.......

Had a swing today at a new spot which was pretty barren of anything good, think someone beat me to it, oh well. Then went back to old faithful and got 10 bucks in goldies and a Shilling in a slightly different area to the spot I've flogged. Slim pickins today, that's ok though I'll find a new honey hole soon.
