G'day All,

First hunt for 2016 at my bush park.

Had to work pretty hard for this lot and use 3 different programs to get the goodies.

$42.20 in spendables.

60 silvers

(1954 Royal Visit Florin, 1913 Florin, 1911 shilling and 1907 English shilling)

59 Penny's and halves.

1925 Welcome USA badge and a few other pins

Sterling silver NEW YORK spoon

Half a bracelet that need to be tested to see if its gold (good possibility)

925 ring

Plenty of brown buggers.

Not a bad way to kick off the new year.

nice effort man, i have never used any other program other than the beach mode with fast recovery and salt water settings. Did you make your own programs?

I use the silver one and a home made one that's more sensitive and another from another member that's even more sensitive.

The only problem with the other 2 is you pick up tiny bits of metal, great for thrips though.

I have never used the beach mode one, I find that the silver program works better even on the beach.

Fast and deep on plus saltwater. Manual sens all the way up, depending on the type of sand or just leave on auto +3 if the sand is red.

School holidays and kids make it hard to go detecting.

Be good to see what else you can get out of that site. I just joined that FB group, keen to see some of the programs people have made. I've made a few myself which serve me very well.

The main thing that I've found great is being able to switch between "high trash" and "ferrous/coin", I keep the cursor on that setting so while detecting all I need to do is press the centre button and flick between the 2 depending on trash and target type.

On parks I'm still using the standard coin pattern (plus the above mentioned settings) and just press the detect button to flick to my custom goldies pattern if I suspect one is there and being masked. Will be interesting to see how others are using theirs.
