Now that the muscles have cooled down I'm in pain. Voltaren has done nothing. Can't wait for tomorrow as I'm sure my calves and hami's will seize up.

Case of no pain no gain DJ,... have a steak or drink a glass of milk,... apparently both contain muscle building stuff. :)

Went out this morning for a couple of hours to 3 parks that I have flogged so I thought I would give them a once over so that I can cross them off the list.

$42 in spendables

15 predecimals of which 2 silver.

A child's silver bracelet stamped 925

Also a RAAF badge.

Not a bad day doing 3 hunted out parks.

That amethyst bracelet is weeny, though a very ornate design. Amazing how much you can still find revisiting "worked out" areas, really have to concentrate on those iffy targets that may have been previously overlooked. Do you track your movements with the ctx gps? :)

Yes mate. Use it every hunt and then I criss cross across the same area. This time was low and slow, baby steps. You'd be amazed how many targets you will still find.

Nice hunt Dejan. I always go pretty low and slow, just a habit I picked up from gold detecting, I don't think I miss much. I haven't used the GPS yet, I may start using it and give it a go to make sure I'm covering ground properly. It's pretty much the way I already work though, I do areas one way and then come back and criss cross the other way.

After your and GP's recent hunts I'm inspired to get out today. Been having a few days off as I damaged a toe from repetatively squatting down while detecting, no way around it but to have a break. :)

G'day mate,

I stuffed my toe about 6 months ago and it took over a month to heal. I'd say it was probably hyperextended from digging plugs. Horrible injury.

I use my gps on every hunt as I like to cover every inch of a park, low and slow is best.

It also depends on the moisture in the soil, it was raining on Sunday so I think that had something to do with it. Seems like the detector gets through wet ground easier than dry.

Also the program that you use will make a difference, I have gone back to the original silver setting and it seems to find more.

Keep experimenting and have fun. I will probably wait a year before I hit these parks again.

I'd like to say that it's impossible to hunt out a park but I have done it on a few occassions. I'd then organise a group hunt on he same park and watch everyone whinge that there is nothing there.

It just confirms that you are doing it right :)

That's a bit mean sending fellow detectorists to their impending doom on a cleaned out site. :D

Every time I hear those words "cleaned out", it's like a red flag to a bull, even more reason to try your skills at finding targets overlooked by others. ;)

Have you gone over those areas specifically targeting those elusive half/full sovereigns, or currently just targeting high conductors? :)

2m square area of turf, that RJ, and I hammered few months ago, he took a ton of coins from it. I tried it today, and pulled another 2 :) So yeah, you cant really get it all.

Yeah a bit of extra moisture in the soil helps a lot I find also, will give that Silver program a go as I haven't tried it yet. Some of the parks I've hunted numerous times I'd hate to be the next bloke that tries as they'll pretty much be wasting their time, lol. Same as the places you've done too. :)

Though in saying that I recken there would still be some good stuff left in the junkier places.
