Yes , the link is Crimson came from the insect cochineal , cochineal feed on Opuntia cacti , Opuntia dont need water & had no natural preditors , so they overran 11,000,000 acres of grazing land in QLD. Cactoblastis Cactorum was introduced as there lavae ate the cacti.

No still havent looked at that RR, my question came from collecting cacti , well I dont anymore, but have about a dozen left from 500 I started collecting 20 years ago
