I visited Australia as a young man, early in my career, and returned to England. I subsequently travelled extensively and became world famous in my profession.
 
ok heres one. He was born in Edinburgh...Scotland in 1847 and moved to Canada on account of family health issues. :cool:

Interesting, Bell visited Brisbane in 1910, and was not impressed with the sewerage arrangements!

On the last named subject he expressed disappointment at what he had so far seen in Brisbane, and astonishment at the comparative dearth of disease. In no civilised country, he said, except, perhaps, Japan, was there to be seen so primitive, sanitary arrangement as ours, and he was the more surprised because in other respects the country had shown itself to he so progressive."
 
well there you go! i thought he had been here...something flickered in a deep recess of my scone... but i just could'nt remember :(
