My two Victorian silvers were from an old park the other day(I've detected it at least twenty times(if not more)), and I decided to take a slightly different tack at it and saw a bit of a low spot(old old track) going upwards from a few trees, so when I followed the old track, it was then that I got a bit of an iffy signal that led me to dig the two old silvers,... if I didn't take that different approach to my usual methods, those two old coins would still be sitting there,... It's funny, because a fellow told me the other day that he got 150 coins from that park(ha) not likely,.. he didn't show me anything he found at all, probably didn't even own a detector, and I've never seen the signs of anyone else going over it ever,... so I think he was just talking the talk to get a bit of a response from me(It wasn't forth coming, as I let him talk himself out), ... Nice enough bloke though, I hope he does make a few finds along the way somewhere.

And this weekend im obviously in someone else's town, judging by the finds ...
Actually by the lack of finds.... Well the lack of high end finds ... Not a single gold coin

$5.75 in modern silvers , 4x 2c and a junk ring

The ring and the coppers were from a little remote area that i checked just before i left
I was more than happy to pick up all those that someone else didnt want .... But it pays to think outside the box.
Ill be going back there tomorrow and hunting outside that very box

Onya Sandta, Either someones been cherry picking or all those coins are pre 1984. Too many targets there that would ring up high in the junk photo, so either someone has a you beaut machine to dodge it all or its just never been done and just bad luck for you that there are no goldies in that particular spot.

Also got a few more 1c and 2c ,an old junk pendant and a 1943 three pence

Then went back up to the main area ... For a couple of goldies

Your the man for it all there Sandta,... well done, U S MARSHAL SANDTA,.. musta been a hell of a fight that got out of hand to leave that gun looking like that, I bet someone went home screaming and bleeding(someone would have gotten a flogging for sure(ha)). Glad you scored on the 3d(925 as well) it looks pretty good from here,.. even the goldies turned up for you in the end.

69er, what an effort,... I'm taking it easy this weekend as my right calf muscle is a bit sore from all the up down lately, it's been getting a bit sore at night and sometimes as I walk it gets a bit tight,... worse after a bout of detecting,... I still want to be able to hit it hard like you Sandta(for years to come yet), I don't mean the bottle either(ha),.. All decimal coins too, by the looks of it the PDs are all left of centre field(still hiding), if you get another crack at it yet, just let your imagination run riot and go with a gut instinct or attack from the rear of field(that's what I'd do).

Must be like finding the extremely rare untouched wilderness in the detecting world,... one where many feet have trod, just none carrying a magic wand around with them to point out the goodies(especially the old ones).

Went out to the park for a late afternoon hunt (saturday)
$6.31 plus the usual rubbish when running all but no discrimination
Surprisingly no bottle caps :/

I'd say the Aldi brigade has cleaned out all the caps for you already Sandta(they probably have a bit to learn), most of them would not have herd of PA. Thus lots of coinage still there, give it a wee bit of time and you may be lucky enough to just score coins etc.

Beat my record by 10 ....... 79 coins this time for a totl of $19.80

I even got myself a 'woody' :lol:
