G'Day Jack

I am heading to Tibooburra in the near future are you heading out that way

Jack, good to see that somebody is looking at your idea, with so much time you have put into it i really hope you will be happy with the outcome. After seeing you at tibuburra I always thought some larger company would jump at it for more commercial use as well. It is well suited to that area in an upscaled unit.
When the hobby version is able to be released a lot of people will be very excited. TG

Thanks TG ,
Early days still ;)

Dave63 , Tibooburra is far to hot this time of year , wait till at least May or you will regret it :8
I have been concentrating on areas that can give at least half an ounce for half day of effort ( one person ) .
Easy to understand why i use a Jack Winder .

So much undetectable gold is out there in dry fields , EG'' read this article .

THX for the reply Jack. Looks Like May it will be. Been thinking of buying a dry washer. Just need to locate one of those 1/2 ounce places to dig. Never been to Tib before so looks like I am in for a lot of digging until I find a spot :pickshovel:

Cheers

Dave

Dave63, it comes down to taking test samples in likely areas. I was so privileged to spend some time with jack and see how he went about sampling and his unit. Was a real learning experience as i had never been interested in panning, just using the detectors. The way jack went about it to me was amazing and quick to boot to sample various areas then run some dirt through his machine. It opened my eyes and I now more understand what guys talk about when they say they sample ground to find where gold could originate from.

Nothing beats having an experience mentor to point you in the right direction, fast track technique and knowledge.

Dave ' motorised dry washers are banned in many fields , including the common at Tibooburra .

As for lots of digging ' lots of thinking of where to dig is not as hard !
;)

Jack .

I am making a Bellows Dry washer with hand crank, that can run on electric motor when in a location that it is allowed.

G'Day Jack

COVID messing thing up or have you had a chance to travel out to Tib ! My dry washers are just sitting here waiting to go ! Hows the Jackwinder progressing ?

Hello Dave ,
Just had a talk to a couple I know back from Tibooburra , they said the place was packed out & caravans lined up out side the park waiting for someone to leave !
The joint is rocking with many Victorians up there now .
The road from Broken Hill to Tib is now fully sealed at last .

Another JackWinder model ready to be field tested next month ;)

Have Fun
Jack .

Hopefully the Hoards are just detecting. Leaving all the dry washable gold. Sealed road will mean the place will always be full of Nomads. Thanks for the info, hope new Winder works well. Any for sale yet ?

Cheers

Dave ' I've almost never seen anyone using anything but detectors up there & the gold they find is getting smaller & smaller even with the best expensive gear .

And as you said with the road all sealed many more will be hitting the place , not that long ago if the rain came they would shut the road trapping people till it dried out .

No winders for sale but if your going up there this season send me a PM ;) :pickshovel:

Have Fun
Jack .

Hey Jack, yes it was good to catch up again on our way back from Tibooburra, we stayed a couple of days in Broken hill and spent a bit of time with Jack and his Mrs had a good yarn about all things gold.

Jack showed me his latest model winder, simplified down from the early model one we used, which worked well anyway, but the latest one is is a slim line model packs away to just the barrel size for transport and takes only a few minutes to setup again.

Anyhow we spent a couple of weeks in Tib stayed in the van park and yes the second week it was very crowded and overflowing, and now th eguys still out there are telling me the power keeps tripping out and some days lucky to have a couple of hours of power. I sure hope that gets sorted out real soon.

Well we used the Zeds, we have one each, and spend about 4 hours a day detecting mostly on the common. We ended up with a bit over 150 nano nuggets for just over 12 grams, for 12 days (well half days) but we had fun and it was good to get away for a short trip.

This is the gold sitting on the x-coil.

I was considering converting my mixer in a similar way, after I saw the gold drum guy on youtube. Not sure he'd get the dry recovery he claims though. What was your issue with it?

Just a few things , efficiency , portability , weight , speed of recovery & performance .
Plus they are motor driven so are illegal many places .

I've still got that if anyone wants it for 5 grams of gold
