Beautifully cut topaz Kingsolomon. :) And a great photo, really shows them off.
I think I would be shot if I used our fondue stand like that. But it is a great idea :)

What sort of cut is the bottom middle topaz? Is that your own design?

That's a bar cut lefty .. not to many facets as long as it stays on the dop:)

Nice tourmaline ! Hey! I've done some step cuts six and eights:) still sorta round though. Got a square in dop now ... Was about to cut this...but I guess I'll have to do that tomorow

I have to cut it round... Steve said" round or die !" And was written on the package.. You reckon SRB or put a star at culet to highlight white pipe?...

Ok ....the pipe looks like a white yolk. So if I keep the culet in that I'm hoping it will brighten the otherwise fairly dark, outer edge . It's a perfect pear though! But after taking off that edge I reckon I'll have almost 6 carat to work with . As for now .... Squaring up a piece of topaz...:)

Ah ok - looks like it would be typically set in a deep bezel setting?

Freaking promising piece of rough!

One of my finds special to me, a 22c pinkish zircon found in the second last sieve of two weeks digging on the Mud Tank field in the NT.

And yes it has faded a little since cutting the purple lighter but not the orange shade.

Nice stone there fossickeract :) Heard all about fading zircons, never actually seen in happen with any of the ones I've gotten from the Anakie field.

I love a good Barion cut, well done love the colour. It will look good whatever shade it ends up.

crappy photos I know!

A week sieving dirt at Chudley Park FNQ produced these peridot cutters although the 60c piece in the centre proved too flawed. Its hard, the sieved gravel is all coated with brown iron oxide and can only be distinguished by its angular shape and after tumbling half of that is black spinel anyway.

It is worth the effort finding the odd gem this one is 5c.
