Thanks guys,
No, I didn't cab it myself, I had a bloke do it for me up in Gladstone.
The stone is 22.5 carats but started out at over 50. Don't know if he kept the best bit :D

Nice stone ... But I wouldn't consider " the best bit " the swarth in his tray . Be happy if you get 20% back . Hope he dosnt see your post .. Might not cab anymore for you....:(

Mate, don't mind if he sees my post, it was over 10 years ago and after not so good later service from him, didn't utilise his services again.

I see ... Not saying your comments are unjustified ... But seems a lot of cutters get a bad wrap , maybe that's why not so many are about anymore ? Everyone on the fields always say " there looking for a cutter" . That's if they can part with it before they die. Maybe that's why there isn't so many cutters , the work goes back into the ground once its found ..albeit years later.. But hey .. Seems that way.

Hi Barney, You have put some work into that stone, looks amazing and so large. :p You will not know what to set it into, what ever it is it will be a work of art.
Cheers Max

looks like it would be nice set in a pendant Kingsolomon. Some sheila would go crazy onya over that.

Hey barney ,I take it you got that mad .. Facet machine ,yes.and have you cut stones on a older machines,if yes how much better is the new to the old..

Just when I was about to get enough paper for a new detector and chase some yellow ,bit of a change you know..

You show your magic, and I start thinking facet machine. Or gold fever :D

PM me some pics or info on your facet Machine ,if not to much trouble

Cheers mate..".......Varts

Look great Heatho -- do you have photos of those stones before? What does it cost to get them cut? I like the aqua colour one in the middle!

Exceptional stones there Heatho. Sapphires certainly command a lot of attention, and colours like those don't present themselves easily. Well done mate.

Nah, I sent heaps, photo just looked like Blue gravel. :) They work out about 3 bucks each in Thailand.

I think I know your next question, but have a look through the forum and a search, Wal gives a great rundown of what you want to send there and what you don't want to send there. Hang on to your stones until you have a grasp on the info.

Keen to hear about your adventures in the future also.

Actually, there are pics of them in this thread here, just had some of the smaller clear ones done.

Thanks Wal, my personal preference for colour is the darker Blue one on the Left at the back, though the others are certainly great colours also. I have a few larger ones of the same darker Royal Blue, a couple more larger Aqua and a few "Inverell Sky Blues". All from Inverell this lot.

I'll be getting Barney to cut my larger ones once he gets used to his new faceting machine.

Could gladly have Dark Blue stones like that commanding my attention all day every day. :)
