My cutters so far... The blues in the middle are really clear , 2.6 -4.7 ct.

I dropped a big dog tooth ... A large amount of searching didn't see it come back... Wipe the clay from your fingers before picking up a stone!

Few stones from the trip up to Inverell, mainly small ones but some very nice colour, a few larger ones that are a great colour but very dark like the 5.65ct in the pics, I don't mind dark Sapphs at all though. Highlight is 2 very nice Zircons a 4.05 and 4.75. Most of the smallies in the pic should cut ok, will send these to Thailand.

A great time was had, many side splitting laughs, saw some amazing stones and learned a lot more about Sapphires in our wonderful country.

Hey Reeko, just sieves mate, can't use any powered stuff on Billabong Blue property without permission from the owners, I asked and they said they don't allow them there which is fair enough. It's hard work digging on the property but if you find the right spot it can be very rewarding.

We also go specking when the sun is high after rain, can see stones from 20 feet away in the right light sometimes. They can be anywhere in Sapphire rich ground and usually in pockets also.

Got most of these from a pile of virgin wash they dug with the excavator and dumped near the tubs for us.

G'day guys,

Very nice collection once again Heatho. Hope you had a blast out there. I'll come join you on the gem hunt one of these days.

Beauty of a collection too Kingsolomon! They should come up a treat when all cut. Look forward to seeing them finished if you decide to post the shots. All the best with learning the cutting process.

Cheers,
Shauno.
