AlgoForce e1500 coil recommendations?

I have out off detecting for 3 years or so , been looking a getting a e1500 just want to know do you find the best all round coil i will mention i do not like sadie coils thanks john

John, 9" Coiltek Elite works great on my E1500.

I noticed you’ve been awol for awhile John, welcome back.
I’ve got the E1500 and so far tried the 14x9 Evo, which I think is the best all rounder for sensitivity and depth, but anything flat wound that runs on a GPX as long as it’s not too big.

These all work well, that’s the versatility of the Algoforce

i was thicking NF 14X9 OR THE 12X7 i remember i had a 10x5 mono white nugget finder it was a really good coil on the 5000. I had a few health problems and sold all my detecting gear, but are thinking about giving it another go i have a chance to get out with a friend to see how the E1500 goes thans john

The NF Evo 12x8 is noisier than both the NF 8x6 Sadie and the NF 14 x 9.

I am having some issues i reached out to algo this is part of reply.So perhaps rethink the 12x8 which is what I have l am thinking of gettinga 8 inch minelab

The Sadie is a great coil for very small leadshot in Vic, am thinking of the EVO 14x9 for more depth.

John,go with the nf 14x9 Evo, fitting a New one this week and might look at a 12x7 advantage just for a spare.

Hi guys. I posted about Detech elsewhere but should have done so here.
Has anybody heard of others or used themselves the Detech 6" round coil on the Algo?
I have an Algo and was using the NF 12" evo but it was just too noisy and unusable in many places. Im in central vic. I got it new for the Algo but soon sold it. Yeah I tried everything including keeping one eye closed but it was just too noisy in a lot of places. I want a small coil. I want ultra light. The detech is the lightest from what I see.
As an aside, I tried my 12" evo against an older 12" Advantage. The Advantage was hugely quieter and clearly the better of the two where I am.
Anyway, I see some coils dont work great on the Algo and I don't want to throw more money away on something I turn around and sell at a loss like I did the Evo.
I read about the Sadie but don't hear about the Detech 6.
Anyway any input on the 6" would be appreciated.

I cannot give you any advice on the Detech 6” round but just some suggestions:: Minelab Commander 8” & 11” round monos, Coiltek Elite 9” round, Coiltek Joey 10x5” mono, NF Sadie 8x6 Advantage or like you explained use a smaller NF Advantage coil which was quiter. Most people do seem to be happy with the NF 14x9” Evo on the Algo but you do not want to waste your money and have to resell it again if it does not work if it is too noisy for your particular area, I understand.

Apparantley nugget finder are working on some new coils fpr the algo and modified gpx5000s may be worth the wait perhaps send them a email.

FWIW, I have a Detech 8 inch round for my Algoforce and find it very good. It’s very sensitive and runs smooth, plus not too heavy or expensive. I think you’ll be waiting awhile for the updated NF coils to become available. They won’t be cheap either.

Available new:

9" Coiltek Elite - works great, very sensitive. Just loves the E1500.

8" Detech Mono - good little solid coil. Calibrates in Ultra Fine, and another smooth coil option being bundle wound.

12" Evolution - works great in my experience, but as with all the flat winds, it's not going to handle really bad ground as well as the bundles. But run it in Fine or Normal and lower the sensitivity and it runs great. Very good sensitivity and improved depth over the smaller options.

11" Detech Ultra - may or may not calibrate in Ultra Fine, but works very nicely in Fine, Normal etc. Good blend of depth/sensitivity.

8" Commander Mono - like the detech 8", just with the old school housing, but still a good option performance wise. Nice and light.

6" Detech mono - I haven't used it personally on the E1500, but one of my customers has and he's given it the thumbs up.

Second hand:

So many options, and most will work but some won't. I have tried an older 10" round NF superlight and it's a little erratic. Won't calibrate in Ultra Fine.

NF 12x7" Advantage - very stable, light but not as sensitive as the flat winds. So better in really hot ground.

To be available:

The upcoming upgraded 12x8" Evo and Sadie are being designed to work with modded GPX's and the E1500, but will still work just as well on older machines.

I would like to know are the Coiltek Elite 9” and the Minelab Commander mono 8” (and 11”) bundle wound ‘OR’ flat (spiral) wound??

Have you tried the Coiltek Elite 14x9” and Elite 14” round on the AlgoForce??

Coiltek 9" Elite is flat (spiral) wound as are all Coiltek Elite coils.
Minelab Commander 8" & 11" are bundle wound.

Hi. Thanks for the reply and recommendations. The 12 Evo I had was not great where I am. I tried everything to get on with it and ended up selling it at a big loss just to get rid of it and recoup some money. I had one on a 5000 and it was a wonderful coil. It was just too noisy in highly variable ground with the Algo. I could see it being ok in highly mineralised ground which isn't variable, but chopping, changing ground type every coil sweep saw the Algo needing to be dumbed down to the point it was in my opinion a waste of time swinging it. Yeah I could make it work but at too much performance loss.
I wont be putting a flat wind on it again.

Yes, some coils appear to be problematic on the AlgoForce. I too tried a mates 12” Evo on mine and found that it was very bump/ touch sensitive..... maybe just this particular coil though. It was still detecting targets okay when swinging off the ground, but contact with anything gave a response. Couldn’t use it.
My own 14x9 Evo runs great though. These spiral coils are very sensitive and definitely need ground balancing often in variable terrain. Also depending on coil size the correct timing makes a huge difference in how smooth they will run. The finer timings can make them more unstable compared to the bundle wounds.
Auto ground tracking would be a blessing on the Algo as well.
