Went for hunt #59 yesterday, bit of scrub land what used to be the property of an 1850s hotel/pub owner:

Nothing much to report, few pieces of semi interesting junk, part of an old door or gate - D buckle.

Pretty slim pickings, scrub was pretty thick in places...

Had abit of a funny moment, got the old double beep from the nox knew I had a surface find. Looked down, small silver coin with what looked like King George... On closer inspection, it was bloody Roosevelt... 2014 US Dime

Until next time

Cheers

You gotta wonder how some things turn up where they do :8

I know right, not to mention the part of a bong I found in the middle of the scrub

Last few hunts have been busts, tonight however Ive just organised 2 permissions for the next two weekends. One a old site with some ruins, and another an old gold mine with ruins also, both mid 1800s

Fingers crossed for some luck :Y:

Went out to a few places for hunt #61 today,

First spot, a private permission of a 1910 property was a bust.

Then just drove around looking and trying a few spots with no luck! Finds have been pretty minimal lately, Im just waiting to stumble across a nice honey hole! Itll come!

I did manage to find a 40s-50s bottle dump today though

Found these 4 within 10-15mins but then gave up on digging more because Im not that keen on bottles really, but theyre cool enough! I passed on the details to another forum user here so keen to see what he digs up!

I found this also, shame it wasnt complete:

$20.10, junker ring and a little toy plane thing!

Police came by about 2 hours in, hit me with their spotlight and shouted from their car asking what I was doing! To which I replied abit of metal detecting they said okay, good luck and left on their way

At the start of this thread I described how I lost a sixpence... well as it turns out it had made a home for itself amongst my 1c/2c!
Close to 1000 if not more coins in the tub so Im not surprised it found refuge there, it was probably revered as a god amongst mere copper coins

I had looked in that tub 4-5 times since because I always had a hunch I threw it in when I put the 1c/2c back!

It was well hidden, but Im glad to have it back
