:playful:

That park looks like it could have a bit more promise with the older silver and brit copper. Beaches really can be hit and miss, need some exposed rocks for the heavies or some decent erosion.

How did the Adelaide coast go after that last lot of bad weather?

Few people on a couple groups Im on been pulling out silvers etc

My recent hunt I went to port Elliot, horseshoe bay specifically... was trying to avoid the Brightons/glenelgs/semaphores etc to try to get somewhere where less people have likely hit it, but no luck unfortunately!

They get hit as well

The secret is to get out at night on a low tide after a storm. Less or no people around, and you get first pickings. Only issue with the metro beaches is the sand replenishment program, really takes ages for any major of sand to expose the goodies - better off looking further north where there are some obstructions distrurbing the movement of sand further north.

Had two hours for hunt #73 on Sunday, went to a new spot with a mate, didnt come up with much... heres the lot:

Got out last night for hunt #74

Just went to a local spot mainly to test out the new Mi-4 pinpointer and rechargeable head torch I recently got, didnt expect much in the way of funds.

Only really came up with $3 and this:

Head torch is awesome, much brighter than my previous battery powered one!

More importantly though, the mi-4 I found to be an excellent pin pointer. I expected some time to get used to it but I took to it right away, very happy with my purchase there!

And for the second time someone called the police on me, they were nice enough though.
I always show our law enforcement the deserved respect, and for the most part receive it back.

We had a good chat about what types of things I look for/find, and the ins and outs of relic/coin hunting!
One of them joked with me that if I found their 1930 penny to call them on 000 :p

I asked them if they wanted me to move on, due to someone clearly being concerned enough with what I was doing to call the police. They said I wasnt doing anything wrong and let me carry on :perfect:

Got out today for hunt #75, managed to get to two ruins and an hour at the beach.

Pretty well known sites in council land but worth a shot!

Cheers

Did a different type of hunt yesterday.

Finally got around to sorting out my scrap into copper/brass/lead like I had initially intended... the plan was to come home from every hunt and before the next one divvy up what I had into appropriate tubs... in reality what happened is Id come home knackered, forget about it and just before my next hunt dump everything into one tub :D

This went on for 2-3 months, so I decided yesterday was the day to sort it all out.

Heres the hoard of trash:

I ended up just ditching the aluminium slaw but keeping the aluminium piping etc. and obviously kept all the lead/copper/brass

As a bi product of just dumping my trash into a tub, every now and then Id accidentally leave something in the keeps section of my finds bag that made its way into my tub

Heres the selection of keepers that almost got trashed

Bunch of buckles, $4.60, bunch of BBs, 3 bong parts, reading challenge medallion, half a pocket watch, some junk jewellery and a couple of keys

I call this a visual ode to getting stoned and losing my keys

Im hoping to get down to the beach next weekend, starting to enjoy the beach more and more now I have my scoop! Stay tuned

LOL Kato does this every hunt, too tired then panics to get her act together for the next hunt.

BUT she is getting better at sorting her stuff

Last hunt, 1st swing I found a nice three pence 1936, she was not happy with me, but at the end of the hunt she did alright too.
3/4hr at a local oval playground.
