Complete new concept , almost no dust when in operation , hand operated , can be used all day long with only one clean out , one or two man operation ' much bigger amounts of material can be run through it with 2 people .

Can also be used with water for great results .

Designed for dry prospecting in desert areas .

To stop your idea being flogged in australia getting different parts made in different locations can be a big help, if there is one crucial part that can be made and sealed so that trying to open it up means basicly destroying the whole unit can also aid in the idea remaining your own, Desert Fox from the states make a dry blower and i havnt seen a ch#####e rip off yet(and if there is it would be crap), and if the gpx 5000 is any sign minelab have been around for a long time and its taken the rip off companies a fair while to come up with a mock up that has had some super bad press.........I wouldnt let these half wits stop you from launching your original, get it out there with a big fat sticker that boasts "Proudly Aussie Made & Aussie tested", with the amount of crap out there now days its amazing how many people are turning back to quality, and for the small few that dont, well you wouldnt want to sell them your product anyway........ best of luck Outback i'll be keeping my eye out for one ;)

To be honest it's impossioble to protect IP these days, you need to stand out from the rest and build the best, anyone who copies a product is usually looking to do it cheaper and the copy is usually inferior.

Make an excellent product and people will always want the original. Real GPX or GPX copy, no goes out looking for the copy, they are duped into thinking it's the real deal.

You have an Invention now what ?

Unless you have a million or 2 for marketing and
Manufacturing and lawyers keep it in your head.

Someone can take your idea who has the capital,
Make product better find a loop hole or 2 around
Your ip protection and make a fortune from your
Idea.

I am self employed and thats what i have learnt.

All products have a life span. The hardest part of
product development is an idea.

Outback, the way I see it you could spend at least $30,000.00 on legals that can be side stepped by most, or you could spend that on producing units for sale and make bank. Then take what you need from sales profits and keep turning over product. One way you go anonymously broke, the other you make money and get the recognition.

Just a thought.

Gedday there Outback .. Sounds like you could be onto a good idea there mate! .. Consider having a chat to Jake Armstrong of Armstrong Industries .. Apart from being PA sponsors .. (Check out more detail in the Sponsors section of the PA menu) .. from my own personal dealings with these folk, I could not praise Jake and Mike highly enough in terms of professionalism, integrity and dedication to bringing new product to the prospecting and small scale mining equipment to the market.

Give Jake a call mate, and good luck to you.

Outback take dwt's advice and part out the work to different manufacturers so all you have to do is assemble it from the parts. The other thing is to hire good people and learn to delegate, don't take on all the work yourself. YOU CAN AND WILL DO THIS it's just about believing in yourself and your product. Apply the Nike method and JUST DO IT! :)

Thank you all so much for the excellent advice everyone , you have saved me going down the wrong track with this :D

To Zuke_Lynzy , should be under a grand for one .

Palmer Digger < I will give them a call ' many thanks for the contact .

Cheers

One thing to consider is registering the Design this is a LOT cheaper than IP and Patent, also quicker. While it may lack in some parts it could be useful to get you going and still give you some protection. Remember not everyone is out to steal your ideas. Look at who can add to your concept and potentially bring them in. Don't be fooled straight away. Someone said business is like a marriage and the smart ones take their time before choosing a partner.

Also look at your local inventors association there is usually one in every state and it is Government supported and committee members are bound by privacy and other charters. You can show the idea without worrying about someone stealing it. They may be able to offer advice you seek.

Once you have all of this under way and confident, you can look at things like crowd funding. One of the most common ones is Kickstarter here is a link https://www.kickstarter.com/ have a look around the site, it is an eye opener. If you have a good idea you WILL get the money and more in a lot of cases.

Best of luck hope that gives you some further areas to look into.

Look forward to seeing the finished product '. Good luck Outback!

Thanks for your good wishes Zuke--

I did a test today , weighed out 20 kilos of dry goldfield material ( rocks & all ) timed how long it took to concentrate down , also seeded 50 little bits of lead in the mix to check how good this portable hand operated model really is !

Anyone like to guess the results ?

:D

I say go for it, do what you've gotta do, get em out there, dwt is on the money there I reckon. I too, will be keeping an eye out for it.
Lots of good advice from members on here.

Make sure all of us on this forum get first dibs on one!?

All the best with it mate.

Cheers, Paul.

Hello again ,

The 20 kilos dry material took just over 8 minutes to turn in to 3 medium pans worth of concentrate , I worked through it slowly so could probably knock off a couple of minutes .

Now the lead test ' got the lot back plus extras , so some how contaminated the sample :8
I got real excited after the first pan !
