Woodshed valley - chemicals in the river.

Could some one local confirm that the authorities closed the area? Apparently the IGA in Beechworth has burned down and some chemicals used by firefighters leached in to the river.
I called Eldorado pub but the lady was not sure what is going on.

Run off from the Beechworth IGA fire only affects Spring Creek as far as the cascades. That is nowhere near the Woolshed or even Woolshed falls.

I heard on the news last night about road closures and access to the creeks/rivers.

If anyone is planning a trip up this way you are better off to ring the Beechworth Information centre.

Anything downstream of the falls is ok to my knowledge . It's due to open on Saturday again anyway if the media is reporting correctly . The rain we have had today shouldn't make any difference to the run off etc .
