I never watched much on Saturday early afternoon TV ...it was Joe the Gadget man Wrestling or some other show i never liked
Best time was later in the arvo when a movie would be on like Francis the Talking Mule or Abbot and Costello .. But the best was during
School holidays , you got up early to watch the shows and then met up with the mates for the rest of the day to roam the creek and bush land for miles around or the cousins would come over and stay ..In cubs, the bottle drive and Bob a job week bush camps and bush craft..

Getting in the car on 38 degree day to go to the beach with the family and burning yourself on the hot vinyl seats.
Mum covering us in olive oil so that we would get a sun tan quicker
In Victoria we had 3xy beach parties on Ocean Grove, Torquay and Lorne beaches with the BigM flavoured milk girls.

Remember when every day dream featured you being able to fly and heroically saving the life of Sally Boyden and Karen Knowles and you knew every word to All my loving.
Burt and Ernie were just room mates, nothing more.
Yo-yos.
Discovering your first armpit hair.
Carrying a comb in your back pocket.
Getting your pen license.

I never had TV when I was young so never really got hooked on it but there was always something else to amuse idle minds.

We'd leave Indooroopilly high school and go via the golf course to the bus. After collecting as many balls as we could fit into our pockets, we'd stand on the overhead bridge at Taringa and have competitions to see who could drop a ball down the funnel on the trains passing underneath. I'm not sure anybody actually achieved it :)

My sister and I used to fight over tv channels, she'd want to watch Komotion and I wanted to watch The Samurai. Mum would just turn it off sometimes.

There was also Jungle Jim, Bomba and Tarzan.
I always wanted a chimpanzee when I was a kid.
I also watched Kimba and loved Monkey, it was magic ;)
