Did 8 hours straight on the pan yesterday for 0.27g. Smashing it tomorrow with a high banker after doing my penance today for the missus, raking and shoveling horse poo and digging over the compost (an 8x1x1m heap). Shoveling the good stuff tomorrow.

Just got back from out there, mate scored a .50gm, I scored a shotgun pellet, and the leftovers of an timers sieve.
Found 3 new area, s (to me anyway) and discovered why the SDC boys love their machines. Also learnt that I need a NF evo or CT elite ASAP!

Knees are well busted out still and slowly repairing, limited, but i have been getting out at least 3-5 times a week for a few hours either detecting coin or panning / sampling creeks and rock. While I'm home I crush a lot of sampled rock in my dolly, here's a painting of crushed rock on my ground from the past 2 days

Redfin - so s that how you find gold-waiting for the missus to radio in?

12 months ago I had cervical discectomy and fusion in L5/6, and although the op was a technical success, it has caused a fair few problems [chronic pain].
I can't, at this stage wear a harness or backpack, so she has taken over the ZED and assumed No 1 status.
I assist where I can, depending how I feel.

Sss oooo ,... how is your cervex Redfin
Only joking mate, feel for you, bit by bit hey ! :D

Disc problems suck hey Redfin. Mrs Chewy had a disc trimmed and grommets put in about 20 years ago when she was 22. Just from general wear and tear. Occasionally it still gives her grief, but is pretty good on the whole. Took her about a year or so before it started settling down. I tore the L5 S1 disc in 2009 and it does seem better than before without doubt, but it's unpredictable. 1 day can be good the next I can't move. Luckily those bad days seem to be getting less, but I just don't know when the next will be. Admittedly I take a few risks by getting out and prospecting, but I got sick of sitting around doing nothing a long time ago when I couldn't. I hope your back gets better real soon mate, so you can get back into what ya love doing. :)

Thanks men, I'm heading off on Monday for a weeks or so on my own. I can manage about an hours on / hour off.
I'll leave the zed at home and just have a play with the 5k and 11" elite, not too heavy. That way I won't have nice shallow digs / scrapes/

I too have fused vertebra and know you need to do all the physio and then be aware of what you are doing. Hour on/hour off is good but not by the clock, biofeedback and act on what you're being told. have a great time and take care.

Your a good kid ,... sorry to hear about ya knee, nothing worse than being incapacitated during the holidays ,... making the most of it though (sign of a good man there), down but not out.
Nurse your knee though still ( that's No.1). ;)

I too have L1/L2 fused--L3/L4 Discectomised. What you say is true but living with constant pain isn't "nice".
Jaros :p

Sounds like many have the back issues. Had two lumbar ops some years back, but pain largely gone now. Feel very sorry for those with on-going pain. Right now it's a buggered knee, but out hobbling around with Direction Finding Daughter. We're at one groat (bigger me - never heard of a 4 pence!) and two nugs totalling 0.72g. Beautiful weather out. BW.
