as silver said let them dry before planting
if you have some ash from the fire pit dip the cut side in the ash, it helps with the drying and also helps prevent any disease's forming on the spud when drying

Can anyone suggest what brand of spud would you buy and if seed spuds or supermarket spuds are the go? I do like Pontiacs myself.

Sebago is probably the most common seed potato. Available from various places including farm supply shops or produce stores.

try to avoid supermarket spuds jaros ,all the work that has been done to get the garden where it is can be destroyed by one spud from the supermarket
worst case would be planting a spud with what they call blackleg disease ,it will contaminate all the soil in the bed ,dump the lot and start again

if you have ever had a spud that was black in the middle and starting to rot from the inside to out that is blackleg ,introduced to the soil via a bad spud then becomes a soil born disease near impossible to get rid of it

if there are no shops close to buy certified spud seed try (green harvest -at witta qld near maleny) they have a lot of the heirloom seeds as well

The Million Dollar Peach Tree is loaded again this year and we've just started to pick some, the Lorrakeets are getting a few of the higher ones but that's okay, there's plenty for everyone

A few things happening iin the garden. My advocados are big enough to survive with out protection now.

here it is back in 2019

starting to get its first crop of fruit too. Its suprising what can be growen down here if you have the patience. Many things will survive the cold if you get them big enough as the ground never really freezes but the air temp will often drop below zero. This is a picture of an Atlantic giant pumpkin next to a Bacon Advocado. Maybe of interest to top ender. Therre are a few tricks to growing big ones but I am going to be lazy and just let it do its thing.

I didnt notice that until you pointed it out :lol: too much time in alone the bush does that to a man I suppose layful:

What's growing well in our garden right now is Figs and Feijoa Pineapple Guava ( My all time fav. )

Here is the latest on the water front, about to buy 6 x IBCs to add to these 2, these are what I cut in half for the grow PODS above. The soil was so bad we had to create our own large soil containers.

Unfortunately 'Big Boy' has been diagnosed with a hole in his heart. 8.( :brokenh: :8

He is fighter and is battling on. :fistpump:
He has undergone surgery to prolong his life .

Please keep him in your nightly prayers , i do not know if he will get to adulthood but he is on the mend.

Might have overfed him to cause this or it may be old seed or a bush chook attack ?
His little bro is doing well.
