That's a good no fuss looking hydro set up bushpig.

I'm going to try growing some super hots. Got some Carolina Reaper seeds from ebay. Hear they're a bit more tricky than tomatoes though.

Ive been doing DWC for years and had gotten really good yeilds.
I moved out in the country and cant do it! way to many bugs...
They eat everything out here! Seen them devour my whole crop over night... so devastated. They nilly carried off the cat the other night... ;)

Just about to move to a new place but currently no tomatoes but the lettuce has bolted to seed. Couple of hot days last week and that was it.

Nothing hard about growing Chillies mate . Water and Fert and away you go ;) But the Fruit Fly also love them too

No tomatoes this year.... had an overflow the previous year and even the neighbours were offering theirs we all had that much!
Got the chillis, leek, celery, all the herbs in though so hopefully they don't get eaten by the birds!

If anyone wants any seeds I am happy to send you some if you send me a SSAE.
I save individual and bulk seed. I can send you half a teaspoon of bulk mixed seed. This is from my 2013-14 growout. All Heirlooms but you will get a variety come up if you sow.
Some pics of that season.

Haven't had much luck this year. Lost my touch! Bit embarrassing to put a pic up bloody things just want to keel over on me. The thought of buying cardboard supermarket tommies is a bit much to consider.

Yep none of my seeds came to life this year !!! First miss ever argghhh
I have had to buy seedlings which are doing well and about 2 1/2 feet high and starting to flower nicely. 6 varieties of tomatoes and chilli plants. MMmm hope they crop well and taste as good as mine normally do.
My peach and nectarine trees are full of fruit by the 100's. Now to let them fatten and try to keep the birds away.

I'm often trying different methods of chemical free pest reduction. I find exclusion netting to be the best. You can see it here on a small patch of strawberries...

This year I had a strange thought :D I decided to form one big bush of tomatoes, and see if I could use their own foliage as a shield from some pests ie. fruit fly, cabbage moth etc
I have used nothing else for pest reduction this year. I fully expected to lose 50%+ of the crop, but obviously wont know until they finish fruiting. I have already seen some with fruit fly marks, and cabbage moth grubs, but also plenty that seem untouched.
I must agree with a few other comments, that this year has been a strange year for sprouting seeds, and overall growing results. My corn is about 30-40% down on last year, and my garlic crop was about 50% down on previous years

I can't see your photos isolation, but I too ended up growing tomatoes en-mass in the plot this year,.... it was meant to be corn, but, no corn came up at all. And because there had been one cherry tomatoe growing in the same spot, when I rottaried up the soil I spread the seeds from lost cherries all through and about, so instead of the corn I got tomatoes growing naturally where the conditions were right for them,.... So I left them to climb all over themselves as well to see how I go with it all in a natural environ(sort of) with no addad fertilizer(the soil had been rested for a couple of years). :D

Yeah those random sproutings are often the best... tough little survivers :)

My thumbs are gangrenous, anything I plant tends to drop dead.

Doesn't stop me trying. I have some pink garlic in the garden, not sure if I planted them at the right time of year or not but they have been in the ground for a couple of months and are still green, so maybe...........just maybe

Thankfully I can rely on my brother, his crop usually takes out first place at the show. :p :p There is nothing quite like fresh pink roasted garlic to accompany a lamb roast and his homegrown pumpkin. :p :p

Your garlic was nice mate, being a bit hard on yourself I reckon. :D

Here's my patch,... first three photos.

This last one is from a nice little tomato I brought home from a bought lunch one day :p ,... they tasted so nice that I just wanted to grow my own(on a trellis) at home. ;) :D
