I grew up on the stuff as well, goes extremely well on school sandwiches, even better when they are left in the lunchbox for several hours in the heat of summer. There is something about the edges of bread curling up that makes the pecks paste more appetising, a bit of sun melted cheese to go with it is a memorable taste sensation.
