Yeah, I know I gotta eat properly RKT (see that everyday, bugga).
And detectercise can be a common word as long as officise is too then BW. ;)
And have that in the forefront of my mind, and reinforced everytime I follow what you fellas write Tribsa ! :p
Not knocking detectercise at all (personally a big follower), I think that getting crook and eating normally while not being able to do normal things like detecting as much as I should have took its gross toll on my waistline,... and just quietly, let me tell ya, when ya pack on a couple a extra pounds with two sore shoulders the old shorts button is a tad hard to get through the hole ,... that woulda had to be the absolute worst of it (ha)
Shoulda had two worse shoulders so I couldn't lift a spoon (id'a been better off)

Don't worry bout phar lap around the oval silver, don't forget you'd have ol Norm watching you move thinkin the same thing:

I'm with you there RKT ,.... some level at least hey !
Can imagine myself fit and full of stamina l. ;) :D

Good on you Silver, losing the initial weight isn't usually the hardest part of the deal, it's keeping the weight off long term that is a real struggle for many, including myself. I find the key to losing weight without a hell of a lot of exercise is to simply eat less. We are conditioned to eat 3 square meals a day, when our bodies don't really require so many kilojoules to sustain a healthy weight, especially when many of us live a relatively sedentary lifestyle. Marketing to the consumer has a lot to blame for this, and it's no coincidence that dinner plates have increased in size over the years.

I am by no means skinny, though I have found having a decent breakfast and nightime meal usually negates the real requirement for a hefty luch, if one at all. Either that or plan smaller meals/snacks spread out through the day. Gradually your stomach will become used to smaller portion sizes, and you will condition yourself to finish eating before you actually feel full - you know that bloated feeling after going for seconds. ;)

Cut out carbs and sugar, and eat more proteins/veg. Replace sugar with natural sweeteners (like Natvia), these have only a portion of the kilojoules that sugar has per teaspoon, tastes just like sugar, and can also be used in cooking. Probably one of the biggest issues is the slowing down of your metabolism as you mature, and the less complex carbs and sugars you stuff into your body, the easier it will be for your body to burn off any excess weight, rather than constantly adding to it.

The other big danger that you want to avoid at all costs, and good incentive for losing weight, is type 2 diabetes. I should know, as I am unfortunate to have been diagnosed a few years ago with it, and it is prevalent in my family history. :|

Rotten luck for you GP and thanks your input. I'm sure you've done a lot of research and are feeling all the better for it.
One of my mates recently showed me this:
http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/scienceshow/eat-fast-and-live-longer/4649612
Basically, with even a reasonable diet, but missing a few meals a week (to the point of being hungry), loses weight bigtime. He's proof.
I'm about to start - right after a knee recon.
Thanks for letting me patent: "detectercise" Silver. This will bring in the big bucks when I sue for illegal usage. I finally own a word!

We'll just have to call it doin that detector thing now to avoid all the friendly law suits (ha).
We be all treading carefully with our fingers on the keys nowadays.
And skipping meals all day too (sometimes)
I know, it's all maths really, with a good dose of willpower for good measure. :D

Got out today with Phantom305 and his bro to a spot on the coast, Bugga me, I spots a sunbaking penny and then Phantom pops a 1918 shilling ,... I'll put up some photos later, can only get mine up off the camera later though.

1460619870_sam_6922.jpg

And this nice little wriggly fish pendant, I'm thinking silver with this one(no time to look yet).
1460619870_sam_6923.jpg

All up it was a nice trip out and about, lotta old broken glass around this area. :D

The 1873 thrip is a beauty, though poor old penny has had a hard life. I rarely pull those commie coins put of the ground these in anything near perfect condition, pity as they are quite good looking coins, much moreso than the more common roos.

Thanks fellas, here are a few photos from in the field, took me a while to resize these ones.
