Cheers guys, I had to join in after browsing this thread and seeing the excellent work by others with at least one with a laser engraver, and sandbagger has access to cnc plasma.
You are correct Sandbagger, I can convey my ideas and designing to the computer screen with great patience, with CNC tools you can bring those ideas to life.
I may not have the patience or articulation with a chisel file and sandpaper etc like you.. It is still a lot of time and thought in designing, fits with my skill set.
I posted a few different techniques and materials I can do or have worked with.
I like Manpa's coin display idea, I will redesign a ver to use as medal displays for our club.
Nucopia, thanks, I started making the wood plaques as awards and perpetuals for our club, I get a lot of satisfaction and pride when complete.
I am a metal and electronics tech person, as a fact I hate sawdust and don't normally like or know how to work with wood, I am loving it now.
It has been a big learning curve and I still have a lot to learn about working and finishing wood.
I think keeping splitting this section could result in work being over looked, regardless I would frequent any areas where people showcased any work or projects they did.
Cheers.
