An 11" Anti-Interference coil for my 5k. Amazingly quiet in places I couldn't get before 'cause of EMI.

what ?

pardon ?

anti-interference coil ? . i didnt know they existed  . thanks for sharing :)

now do they have a coil so you can detect closer to things like wire fences and railway tracks without the detector blanking out ?

Can get in under power lines and up to the electric fence and in close to suburbia without the 5k going ballistic.

It's the 11". $225 retail. But I had a $150 voucher, from Coiltek, so I was only out $75. Like a 14" but, with Christmas and the usual
handful of free-loading relatives, the bank balance has taken a bit of a flogging. :) Amazing how quiet this coil is. Mate's got a Teknetics
detector, and pointer, and usually can't get within yards of me without me 5k going nuts. Now, not a whimper from mine. Not that I want
me mate detecting at me shoulder, just a little test we did.

do they put shielding over the top of the coil to block the EMI or cant you tell how they do it from looking at the outside ?

Today I bought a name tag for my dog. Im tempted to deliberately let him out to see what sort of phone call I get. :D

Wouldn't have a clue. Sorry. All I know is that it works for me, and in places I couldn't get before.

Finally came in the mail. Better than the massive metal case i pickup, it weighs nothing and can fit all the gear I need for NZ

Picked up a pair of coil covers for the Goldmaster DD 5x10 coil and 3x7 DD shooter coil from Goldsearch Oz. Also bought a great Garrett backpack from the Gold Mining Centre here in Adelaide, was cheap at $50, usually around $85. This thing is cavernous, enough room for a detector, gold pans, seperate compartment for extra coils, and all sorts of other storage pockets for drink bottle, pinpointer, batteries, pick and so on. :)

Couldn't afford the oompaloompa, they don't come with a warranty either! :p

Today I bought a cappuccino in Heathcote as I headed out with the gpx5000 with my new minelab pin pointer bought by Father Christmas. The result was plenty of junk no gold. The cappuccino are costing me a fortune. Cheers :)
