Is it the coiltek 14 inch one you have ?

It's the 11". $225 retail. But I had a $150 voucher, from Coiltek, so I was only out $75. Like a 14" but, with Christmas and the usual
handful of free-loading relatives, the bank balance has taken a bit of a flogging. Amazing how quiet this coil is. Mate's got a Teknetics
detector, and pointer, and usually can't get within yards of me without me 5k going nuts. Now, not a whimper from mine. Not that I want
me mate detecting at me shoulder, just a little test we did.

do they put shielding over the top of the coil to block the EMI or cant you tell how they do it from looking at the outside ?

Wouldn't have a clue. Sorry. All I know is that it works for me, and in places I couldn't get before.

Also bought a great Garrett backpack from the Gold Mining Centre here in Adelaide, was cheap at $50, usually around $85. This thing is cavernous, enough room for a detector, gold pans, seperate compartment for extra coils, and all sorts of other storage pockets for drink bottle, pinpointer, batteries, pick and so on.
