Yesterday I bought an old miners pick @ the Rosedale Man Cave Market for $10.
Looks to be in reasonable condition. Anyone know how long the pick end is originally?
This one is 9" from tip to handle. Looks about right to me. I've seen pictures of much worse worn ones...
Next thing is to get a handle for it. I'm told an adze handle fits...

I begrudgingly bought a Samsung S6 today. We'll see how it goes. Happy with it so far. :)

Hey Chewy, hows the phone going?
Haven't bought my new one yet and would be interested in your thoughts on the S6.

Cheers,
Billy.

I'm pleasantly surprised with it Billy. It is a lot faster than my old Motorola. Much better camera to. The big difference I have noticed is it doesn't get hot like my old phone. But overall I can't complain at all. Big thimbs up from me. :)

Oh great :) I thought I would have to get them custom made. Can you let me know how you go with the size fitting the head, I have 2 that I want to fix up.
Hey by the way does anyone have any info on the manufacturing marks like the ones on Ag mans pick head?

And can anyone recommend a blacksmith? One of mine has had bit too much work. Or do you think i should just restore it as is?

The dimensions to fit the head are 63mm x 23mm with parallel sides. 840mm long i believe. code 01-028

The markings on my pick head say 1lbs, 1537, Brades Co? or Trades Co?

A few weeks ago I got lucky and came 2nd for the week in our local papers footy tips. The prize was $50 in vouchers for a local safety supplies shop. The only thing I could think of that might be handy was a cheap 1st aid kit. I poo you not. Just b4 school pick up I jumped online doing some research on gaiters, and the very same safety supplies shop just happened to be a local dealer for snake protex gaiters. $132 they wanted, less the 50 bucks in vouchers, $82 for a pair of good quality gaiters. So it was an offer I couldn't knock back.

Do  they come in pink with suspenders? Will have to get the missus a pair.

Sorry, just had to say it. :)

Sounds perfect. I'll order 2 and try out. Are you sure its not 1837, the year of manufacture?

Thanks

lol didn't see any other colours there, but I spose they might have had some out the back. They did come with a functional yet stylish carry bag.
