On the weekend I went to a local Adelaide market and found this nice piece of Mookaite to add to my rock collection.

Today I bought a plastic shovel from Masters $49, to make a beach shovel like Nuggets & others of course, plus a 100mm 32 degree PVC bend & a end cap to fit plus a metal painting extension pole to make my own sand scoop, (saw something similar on a utube video.

$87 worth of ulp. Cairns to Cooktown and back via an south palmer = buggered... Ten pans of dirt was all the lad an the trouble n striff could handle. found some gold. ate well. good day out :p

Well not today but a couple of days ago I got an Angus MacKirk Foreman sluice from Nuggets from Downunder Mudgee & gave it a test run yesterday. Having never used a sluice of any type before I found it fairly easy to set up & it worked well. Could see some of the chunkier specs sitting on the top section where you load the material & they didn't budge. Only ran about 3/4 bucket thru & collected some nice specs & some fine stuff too. Had a pan under the end but found nothing in it so it appears to have caught pretty much everything. Classified down to 1/4 but believe you could easily get away with 1/2. As a test I even shovelled a few loads straight in without classifying & it went ok. Went the Foreman as it can handle a bit more than the grubsteak but is still small enough to work with small creek flows.
Very impressive first up & will give it a lot more use.

Set up:

Today I stopped talking and procrastinating about it and bought a whites GMT from goldsearch Australia. Arrives mid next week. Little excited at the moment.

Thanks DD. I did my research and it was either that or the gold bug 2. It's going to be best suited for the spots I picked.

There's a few of us using them on here so just give us a holler if you have any questions or need help with settings etc.

Hope it finds some nice Nuggies for ya.
