I must be a idiot but what exactly does this do ?
Is it for the end of a sluice as a final trap for the water to flow through , or is it more of a underwater dredge style setup.

Id recommend looking up underflow sluice riffle and see how it works and impliment the design into you auto-puddler here. Id be concerned about float gold, so Id recomend using enviro safe dishwashing detergent when running it too.
