Just watched all 6 episodes..what a great show ..
Reminds me how much I enjoyed visiting Britain

My son and I spent 2 months ther a few years ago. We stayed at a judo club in Camberley in Surrey.
When ever we had free time we would go exploring. Windsor castle a few times, Tower of London, also went to a few old Castles and keeps as well.
We also drove to the site of a Roman settlment in Silchester.

I can get you Detecting 7 days a week of you want, and there is a Roman Villa near by

My sites in one spot go from the Neolithic to modern day And I have Permission to detect where the biggest battle on English soil took place, Some family friends Own The Land.

Nice. Which part of England is that? Mum's sister is in Kent and lives in a 400 year old house. I'd be happy just doing the yard.

The middle Ages and Roman Sites in Kent Also, And you won't have an 8 hour drive to the Pub Either,

Well for A start you should find coins from William the IV from around 1696 that's just about Guaranteed in their Garden and Most of the Coins would be silver or Gold, But it is possible that you will find things from the 1400s or even earlier,

A Couple of things to remember when ever you come detecting over here is 1) use a fast recovery machine, and 2) Always Try and Detect the South Facing Slopes/Hills Because the Roman always Built on South Facing Slopes, and One Definite sign of human habitation Is A weed called Stinging Nettles and yes they Do Sting but later they Itch a bit. and when they are in Flower they don't sting or if they do it doesn't hurt.

Sorry RJ, William the III Reign was 1689-1702 (born 1650-died 1702,)
I found a 1696 shilling a while back but it is badly worn.

Here is a Roman Denarius from around 150 - 250AD ish, It was silver plated as a lot of their coins were there is about 1/2 of the Silver missing,
