Hell of a hunt, congrats on all those predecs! You are very lucky to have so many disused ovals in your region, and many of them seem to be untouched by other detectorists. :Y:

Thanks Goldpick, I like to think I'm in a black spot between other ppl's hunting areas.
Was a lot of farming/mining industry back in the early days that resulted in many small settlements that didn't survive the modern era.But boy did they love their cricket :D

Rockhound and I got back to our sportsfield permission for a clean-up. A few nice finds came out.
Also got a few from yet another hall and old church.

Old shelter shed.

Rockhound and I racked up some Ks today on the hunt for silver (coins, not the one and only silver :D )
First stop was a former hotel/small town in the bush on an old coach road. Needs a fire through to open it up.https://www.prospectingaustralia.com/forum/img/member-images/3012/1520758514_20180311_1.jpg
Did find one coin that roughly dates the site., 1861 penny.

Next stop, an old disused sports field. The farmer had ripped the cricket field, luckily he left the tennis court and surrounds.

Hope everyone had a great weekend :Y:

 WOW NOX Rocks!

After all the research and Googling, and a big drive, Rockhound and I arrived at our plan A for the day to have our hopes dashed by the scourge that is giant Rat's tail grass!
We had come too far to leave, so after gaining permission to take a look at the old cricket field, we waded in to brave the snakes and ticks.

I'm a firm believer in positive thinking, and making my way to the least grassed in area, managed 2 half penny and the 1914 Shilling. This spot will need further attention next time we have a 2 year drought.

So half an hour later, now what? Belated plan B is again dragged out and after another hours driving, we start swinging with renewed vigour. After finding the usual BB's, spendies and a few nice pre's, Rockhound goes and finds something that in my eyes would be rarer than a Sovereign coin spill

I'm just glad it's not Sunday, because no one would believe what he found on April fools day ]:D

My finds for the day.
