It seems that the centre core is lost.

Only one of the three centre core engines reignited, so it wasn't able to slow down and manoeuvre to land successfully and came down in the ocean beside the drone ship (barge).
Now for Crew Dragon at the end of the year.... :Y:

Should have put it on the moon as atleast they could have went for a drive.
Its a crazy world we live in but atleast its not dull :Y: those boosters relanding would have to be the greatest advance in space history i have seen.
Kim juan yong (the crazy guy) will have had his ego crushed now :brokenh: his little rockets wernt nearly as member shaped as that big one :lol: .
Cant fix mobile service on earth but we can put a car in space :lol: .

MT, Glad to see that the young fella got to the moon.
Not sure what Elon has planned for the moon, but it seems that it will be the Big Falcon Rocket not the Falcon Heavy that lifted off today.

I understand that the young fella was in simulation suit and location - that's all (well done to them).
None that I heard of will make the actual trip for a at least a few more years.
I think Elon is planning it with the successor of Falcon Heavy - the Big Falcon Rocket (BFR), which he's also planning for Mars colinisation.

There have been a few cool touches revealed. The DON"T PANIC in the dash is a reference to the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Also there is a copy of the book and a towel in the glove box. Hot Wheels also made a mini Tesla with mini starman and it is on the dash of the real Roadster.
Best explanation of the centre core I have seen.... "The center core, a brand new booster, attempted a landing on the Of Course I Still Love You but the rocket ran out of ignitor fluid in 2 of the 3 engines and hit the water at 300mph."

It missed the drone ship.

The first statement I posted fits the other 3 I have heard.
