Sounds like an interesting project. Are you aiming for gold or gems?

just pine mate
going to water proof it with something not sure what would be best to use

Lanolin does a really nice job of protecting it and it polishes up well too.

Thanks mate i will use that

I have no idea about the lanotec, outside my scope, but epoxy would be best, followed by something like plasti dip or luxa pool.

Think waterproofing not exterior weather protection if you want to do it right, Ive lost count of the times encountering cheap or incorrect protective coatings applied to substrates that are completely unsuitable.

Any how just my opinion to do it once and do it right, but whatever you decide mate Ill be watching the project with interest. :Y:

Definitely got my attention with this project. Looking forward to seeing your progress Marksman. Thanks for sharing with us! :D :Y: :goldpan: :goldnugget: :pickshovel:

Damned good job mate...look forward to seeing it in operation...does the sluice section have riffles?..or does it rely on the splash board thingo to separate out the gold...also does it sit on an 'arched' cradle to facilitate the 'rocking' action?...so many questions!...
