Thanks Matt ,
Keep us informed ...
I'll set mine up so that the internals can be rejigged , and the splayed entry is removable .
Steve .

Looking forward to the results too, the stream I'm in has very low flow with gold and gemstones. It sounds like this type of sluice might catch both with a slow flow through it, if it does I will make one.

Well I finally managed to find a place to give the sluice a fair run... The verdict as I see it, how I have it set up it will need moderate flows to work really effectively. A couple weeks ago I set it up with lowish flows and a less than desirable angle and it failed to clear, so I ended up panning my classified buckets. I got out a couple days ago at a place with good flows but finding a suitable place to set up proved a challenge. In the end it I got a good moderate flow running through but it could've used another inch or two drop (which I couldn't find) to aid clearing. The end result was a success and although the expanded choked up a fair bit, the crate section was clearing great and there was a good boiling action at the start of the expanded mesh. I ran 3 buckets through it and got about 0.3 so pretty happy with that. I've got another 4 buckets worth with the verdict still out on the cleanup. All in all I'm happy with how it worked, the only gold that was in the crate/mat section was all fly **** stuff and the expanded had both and definately the bulk of it.
