A short hunt after night shift. The thrip migy be worth a bit if it was in better condition. Once again the deus is great at picking out good targets in with the iron.

I'm seeing feathers on the emu, could be a soft strike too, that coin could clean up pretty good RJ.

Really trashy site today and it's a large area. We know there wI'll be pre decimals in there, just need to find them. Only 2 roo half pennies for me today. Some interesting trash too.
I thought the large disc was just trash until I saw the arrow. Maybe some type of gauge or meter.

Lots of dem nasty crown caps in there! It can be a bit off-putting detecting some of those real trashy sites, especially if you don't get any decent finds within the first few hours. Boredom tends to set in, and thoughts wander to detecting some more fruitful sites. Was this the first day detecting this particular site, or a continuation from where the ring was found?

exactly rite about the mind wandering, start to focus on aches and pains, loosing energy to keep at it. Will be better parts to this one.

Arvo hunt with Rocket today. Clock day apparently. I got pieces of 3 separate clocks. The one with the x irt still in it had the red plastic car and a shoe underneath. The other clock with two frames and some gears was a surface find. 2 half pennies a Penny and the bell were all close together. I got pretty excited when I saw the pistol grip in the hole, thought maybe I had another complete gun. The bell is my 0ick for findd of the day.

Nice hunt Rod, some people pay a bit for old chisels/tools also. There is all the right stuff at that site, gotta be some good silver coins there somewhere.

Forgot to mention that Rocket found the old chisel. She's done a lot of work by the look of the beaten top.

I was wondering what those square frames were in the 4th pic, had plenty of those from a site here, though never with the cogs attached. Plenty of toys coming from the area, would be great to pick up on another intact six shooter.

I did an hour & 1/2 grid work today for not much result. The lighter may be silver but I haven't had a good look yet. The smaller button came out with the penny and I thought it was a thrip.

Yeah mate gridding is the way to go. Once you have done a area you can move on & not lose sleep over it. Great finds too by the way. Cheers.
