Mrs Ramjet told me that my wedding ring cost more than her wedding and engagement rings together. 8) :8 not sure if I should be wearing it or putting it in the safe. 8)

Very happy for you Rod, the Deus is biased towards the low conductors, so should be ideal for more gold rings finds in the future with some luck. Out of interest, what did your ring iD at?

Might also be good to keep a record of where these rings fall on the ID range for future reference. Then we can make up an Oz based ID chart for coinage, jewellery and other assorted items of interest. :)

You are out shooting the SDCs Ramjet, 9ct at 5.7g is equivalent to a 2g nugget

Keep looking, there may be a perfectly good wife tossed out with the ring, might be worth at least half but will usually cost about the same if you decide to keep it.

If more people knew what gold rings ID at.....Clegy would sell deus by the container load :)

It rang up 84 so I thought I was digging a $2 coin. It's a Deusfast based program so 18 kHz. Great idea to keep a record. My wedding ring is thinner and rings 82. I need to do some more testing.

I've found gold rings are all over the place, seriously all over the place actually. The CTX produces a ferrous ID of 12 usually for gold but the conductivity can be anything.

Small gold nuggets for instance can be say 12:02, 12:04, gold rings can be all the way up to around 12:47 for that 23K ring I found and/or anywhere in between.

Out this morning with Rocket. It's a very interesting site. Research showed an old home site but there is a lot af mechanical type stuff. My best find is the SMR button. South Maitland Railways is a significant part of our local history. They ran the last commercial steam trains in Australia. Still running in the early 1990s. The 1950s Vanguard Standard car emblem is a great find. I think the next item may be a salt shaker? The 2nd last image may be a trumpet mouth piece?

Great site to pick over, amazing how much gear there is in your pics that I've seen at relic sites here, almost like we are hunting the same spot. ;)

Nice to see the pocket knife intact, most of mine are in a thousand pieces. :)
