Nice shots prospectorpete that camera offers good macroscopic quality. I love to photograph fungi in winter. So cool to see the variety out there. Have probably photographed a couple hundred different species. Here's just a couple

and below is the gold of the mushroom world although unlike gold they grow back each year :) . Only took me four years of searching to discover a patch of porcini mushrooms in Adelaide. At $120/kg and often weighing a kg+ a piece, they're very sought after. Absolutely delicious and mostly imported dried due to their rarity here.
Biggest specimen I've found to date would have made a good substitution for a foot stool.
A 2.5kg specimen

Great shots nuggettino, I got into photographing fungi by accident really, we got the camera and wanted different subjects to take pic's of on our travels, we were/are complete novices at this but the fungi just seemed to show themselves everywhere, it's funny when you start looking through a lens how the small things seem to stand out like never before.

Hey Nuggitino, those ceps (porcini in Italian) are great. I've never seen them growing in OZ before, but have eaten them (yum) in France and Italy. We get the smaller slippery jacks around Goulburn, but they don't taste anything like ceps.

Looks like SA is the place for them:

alot of these photos should be watermarked, to save them being copied, and used by others. Does this forum strip exif data?
