Nice shot of Bermagui up there. :) :)
It is only just up the road from me down here in Tathra.

Lovely part of the world up your way Tath. Spent a lot of time between Womboyn and Bermagui/Narooma over the years.

Yeah it was early coldish morning in early May about to go out chasing YF Tuna, flat as a sh!t carters hat a few years back now, love Bermi great place, unfortunately the body can't handle the banging ride home any more. :(

You probably heard about my episode a few years back.
Bloke up here decided to go fishing in my boat and he had been drinking all night.
Pinched it off the front lawn then capsized it in Kianinny.
Wrote it of.
Did not put the bungs in and could not start it.
Don't worry, He paid for it big time. :D

i remember one return trip from montague island in the seventies on an old tuna boat. i was up in the crows nest and i kid you not the swell troughs were so deep i couldn't see over the top of them. It was a huge sea that trip and all for only one YF tuna and half a dozen Yellowtails. Good days though with good mates and old time boat skippers

No haven't heard that one Tath, sorry to hear that, hope you got it back in spades
I couldn't drink heaps the night before, I always suffered badly from sea sickness even if I took the pills and did everything right to prepare, but it was worth it to be out off the plate all alone in the sapphire blue of the pacific, don't get any more serene than that. :)

Don't get me started about this place, love it, Kingfish heaven, had to turn your back on the water otherwise they would take the bait out of your hand

Some great pics there Filthy, gotta love Birds of Prey and that is a decent Queeny. They are an amaising fish. I had one up in Nhulunbuy do a few figure eights around my lure in the blink of an eye. The turning circle was unbelievable...
Whats the biggest YF Tuna youv'e wrangled? I used to watch Vids of Steve Starling gettin on to'em back on VHS. GOING FOR GOLD amongst others. Used to go to Eden every Chrissy Holidays and fish Hacocks Beach. Love that part of the world...

Hey NG thanks,
Queenies imo are the hardest fighting fish pound for pound I've ever caught, never give in and will kill them selves trying to get off your lure, I only ever got jelly beans and 8kgs was my best YF.

I missed the golden 60's and 70's when you could get 80 - 100kgs models LB'd off the rocks of Green Cape and all the way up the coast :)

I've watched a few Vids LB at Green Cape. I was slightly obsessed with Land Based Fishing when I was a boy. GC and Jervis Bay were the s%#t. I had to be content with pier fishing between Western Port and PP Bays, though that didn't stop me dreaming of the deep water...

I rember our first trip, 2 of us, 18 foot HH, weather was great, we ended up wanting a day off from getting up early and going out, so decided to have a drink or 3 after cleaning the boat, next day took the Pic above. We then took the esky and some snags down to the mouth of Wallaga Lake just up from the bridge to have lunch and a relax by the lake.

We pumped some nippers and off we headed, well the next 3 hours were bedlam, pan sized pinkies didn't leave us alone, we ended up rolling around laughing, couldn't keep a fish off our lines that week, just a terrific place, do miss it 8.(

I remember being the same NG, fishing rivers in Gippsland and jetties around the peninsula, all fun mind you, but that's got nothing on the Sapphire Coast, it's got it all, would love to move up that way, but the minister for war and finance won't move that far away from kids, and I don't blame her for that, well maybe a little :|

My old man has got his first ever reel still. A beautiful wooden Alvey :D . I cant wait to get my two boys down Hacocks for a serious night fish when they're a bit older. Massive Aussie Salmon and Gummys.

Green Cape, we used to drive up there from Melbourne on friday nights and drive back to Melbourne on the sunday. High speed spinning off the rocks with very basic tackle throwing slices and coffins, and later on LBG fishing. In those days the track in would take hours and often end up with a 4WD or old transit van bogged and the regulars all helping each other out. We used to camp illegally at the pulpit, or the springs and back at Bintangabbie bay if the rangers sprung us at 3 in the morning.

Similar for me to Scrounger, although the old man and I used to hook the boat up Friday night and head to Narooma. Go straight to the ramp fish all day Saturday and half of Sunday and then head home, couple of hours sleep and then off to work again Monday morning! Those were the days. The days when you could catch and release as many 60kg+ yellowfin until you arms and back couldn't handle the pain anymore..A couple of things have changed now though, all the big yellowfin are mostly gone and the folks now live up there.. No more days in a onsite van struggling to sleep with the old mans snoring... So many times I wanted to put his pillow over his face!! lol

Green cape was where we had our family camps in the early 70s.....
Bittangibbie was just loaded with fish.......
At night my brother and I would float around in our blow up with a gas lantern and scoop the garfish in with a net.......

Couple more random shots from here and there.
