What a fantastic ring!

Floriography - the language of flowers - was very popular from the mid to late 1800's. Pressing flowers became a real artform during that time.
I doubt you will find this ring online, because they were chosen and made with special messages displayed by the flora in them.

I think this might be Queen Anne's Lace, also called the Bishop's flower, that symbolised safety, sanctuary, peace, protection.

I believe this was given to someone as a protection ring. Possibly someone coming to Australia to start a new life perhaps?

Well, it’s been awhile since I’ve had a chance to get away into the countryside and play in the dirt.... so here’s some stuff with plenty of dirt attached.




I’m currently poking around this old homestead testing out the Nokta Legend’s ability to sniff out some goodies amongst lots of iron trash.


I will clean up my finds when I get back home and post some more pics.

Just out of curiosity, is that structure in the last pic an actual old time garbage depository. It seemed too small for animal stalls or the like.

Yeah mate, plenty of good scrap steel just laying around.

It's built like the proverbial brick sh1thouse! Hard to imagine what sort of structure could need such extremely solid low walls.

Maybe foundation for old engine . They used to drive multiple implements of the one engine ?? Foundation for old boiler ? My grandmothers house was in Moliagul and there was a huge oven there that we played in as kids, looks very much like it could be the remains of one ? My Great Uncle purchased the house that John Gleason built after he found the Welcome Stranger, it also had a huge baking oven with fire pits underneath it ?? Remember well the big iron door it had and my big sister would lock me in it ...................... as big sisters do.

The silver plated fork cleaned up a treat, some real character in its patina.

I forgot I had this ladies hair adornment thingo soaking in the ultrasonic cleaner.... it has come up rather well as I didn’t think it very special straight out of the ground. Measures 6x3 cms.
