Could you provide a screen shot of some of it to get a understanding of what you have to be selected,, what type of data overlay is it.

I am not sure which Q 1 or 2 I asked that you have replied to - pls clarify

Update on my Qs:

1. Is there are (full) data dictionary for the NSW EL Google Earth Overlays file?
2. Now OK as I discovered the free QGIS tool that will allow me to do what I want - see http://www.qgis.org/en/site/forusers/download.html
