OK, Suggest you start your research by downloading the Google earth file provided by Geoff_Junk here: https://www.prospectingaustralia.co...to-gold-mines-in-australia.39085/#post-687997 This shows the location of registered gold mines in NSW
Where you go prospecting will depend on whether you are detecting or sluicing/panning. For Instance, Tibooburra is known for its small/fine gold of a size that is detectable but is difficult to pan as there is very little water.
If you are just starting out, suggest looking around Sofala/Hill End/Bingara
