This is what the symbolisms on the flag mean.
This is a recreation of the diggers' flag from The Monster Meeting. The pick and shovel represents their labour; the emu and kangaroo to mark the digger's identification with Australia; a bundle of sticks to show that together they would not be broken; and a pair of scales - to weigh the gold and to represent the justice they demanded.

What? Why would ONLY lapidary associations be interested in a Flag that covers ALL Miners and Prospectors?
