I'm looking at the Manticore as a future step up from the Vanquish 540.
I've watched a pile of videos on how the 2D display operates.
I don't understand two things;
1) What is the difference between the ferrous sections above and below the line? Is this some nuanced thing to do with the detectors internal behavior that isn't described?
2) The discrimination bias above the line is done like a curtain being lowered while the iron bias discrimination below the line can be applied in sections - is there a reasoning behind this?
I can see that if you want to hide a certain junk target that you could manipulate the bias to hide the problem target but why different above and below the base line?
What aspect of a ferrous target determines if it will display above or below the base line?
Cheers
