Nenad has always been a great bloke to deal with, and has done so much to promote the Minelab product.

IMHO what has happened to him is a dog act by Minelab! 🤬

Since Ian Aitken left, Minelab have, in my opinion, been a pack of greedy corporate thugs, who will do just about anything to stifle competition! 🤬

Rick
After purchasing several items from Nenad and having an extremely informative chat about detecting during which I learned of his vast knowledge and experience in Minelab detectors and detecting in general, I find it unbelievable that this has happened. Nenad's knowledge portrays to confidence in your purchases. In my opinion Minelab should be supporting Nenad 100%.
Product knowledge is part of good sales and satisfied customers. I would buy from Nenad and others with similar knowledge and experience before anyone else.

So people claim Minelab is greedy for preventing compitition, I wonder if these same people would sell their finds at a Low Discounted Price or prefer Top Dollar
If dealer likes to sell different brands of Products, all they have to do is Buy their Stock Outright without Promotional Support, otherwords it be like Ford Dealer selling New Holden Cars

I'm sorry but I wholeheartedly disagree! I'm not a detecting shop owner nor am I a Minelab dealer, but I personally know one dealer - someone who has helped hundreds of detectorists, whether beginners or more experienced ones, someone whom I am now proud of calling my friend - who is also facing difficulties with Minealb only because of his honesty in selling the right machine to the right person based on each person's specific needs and with only their best interest in mind; and that is simply wrong from Minelab! The analogy between a Ford dealer selling New Holden cars is flawed from the start because they are a one-brand dealers, and no detector shop (at least that I know of), especially if they have been around for many years, sold just Minelab and no other brand of metal detectors. I think the point that was made here by other forum members was that it was all good for Minelab to be sold through these well established dealers in the past, that is until recently, when all of a sudden it became a no-no - and we all know what was the cause. I am angry at Minelab for what they are doing, and am sure that many, many other prospectors feel exactly the same. I strongly hope that Minelab will come to their senses and reconsider this ill judgment.

The crap these guys are dealing with is a typical American business model, an old friend had a Harley Davidson dealership in Sydney, he looked depressed one day & said HD America had told him he would have to spend 2 hundred grand on merchandise, moving the store to bigger premises & submit a plan of the new store to see if it would be suitable for HD's plan model OR lose the dealership, this was put on all the HD dealerships that didn't come up to HD's expectations, it sucked, that's how they wanted & too bad if you didn't come up to scratch, it's care factor Zero for small businesses.

Perhaps we could organise a signed protest letter to go to minelab. Stating how we prefer to dealers who really know their stuff and not some smart arse salesperson.

Not necessarily an American business model, cases in point from both the recent past and older are Honda, Total Tools, Metcash! (Size constraints as to which group banner you fall under, M10, True Value) Many wholesalers hold their distributors to account via ranging, floor space, merchandising, cataloguing etc, it has been happening for many many years.
We also have on the other end of the scale people like Cole’s, Woolies etc who charge many wholesalers for shelf space, cataloguing etc in addition to high percentage rebates and advertising costs, ullage etc.
Not defending Minelab, just saying it’s nothing new.

It's a great idea! If we organise it, I'd not only be among the first ones to sign it: I'd try to get as many people on board as I can!

So what's the answer. Do we boycot Minelab?
The problem for me is the main dealers are great people too.
It's not Minelab it's Codan last i checked.
I'll hang onto my 5000.
No need to change.
Good Idea,

Yes, Let's boycott Codan/Minelab!

At least until the the release of their next Supa Duper Flagship Gold Detector.

Then we can all rush back to them begging them to take our money and to give us one of their new toys
to play around with, LOL

Lets face it people, their top of the range prospecting detectors are a level above anything else available atm
and the Qed, Algo, or Garrett are not going to save us.

So we will just have to put up with their business practices no matter how unpalatable they may be.

That's just a sad fact at the moment. Coden is a pretty big company in the field compared to other detector manufacturers, the fact that they are happy to allow others businesses to make add on products for people to use on their detectors with their blessing shows that they probably don't care what the customer thinks about their treatment of the smaller retailers.
