What? All of a sudden we're the rude ones for not telling ..... this should be in the comedy section!

why do people have to change it to something personal for no reason .

Also a Bit disappointed in LC76 as well for liking that irrelevant post :(

Says the bloke making it personal about me.
I didnt insult you , i was merely dissapointed that you agreed my comments were rude to anyone . Im sure if you our anyone else here re read what i said in context to the topic there is no way it could be interpreted that way.
It just seemed out of character for you thats all .

Im confused ....im not sure how liking rotors post was agreeing that yours was rude. ??

I like rotors post because to me it felt like we in some peoples eyes are being rude for not giving out locations.

Probably a very simple solution is ...................... if you don't show it then no one would or will ask ? Human nature being as it is I'm damn sure if some one shows me a fist of nuggets the words from my mouth are going to be "Damn where the F... did you find those " Not meaning to even ask but indeed I just did.
Probably easier not to ask and just throw a tracker bug onto his rear bumper as he drives off ;)
You can buy about 4 for a gram :D

Ebay sellers will be wondering why the sudden increase in tracker sales

Just trying to save you from yourself. Winter is not a good time for a holiday.
Seriously Jaros , So what is your reason for threatening to ban me ?
Gary - i edited what you wrote because it contained a disparaging remark and unwarranted personal attack on me.
Is that clear and concise enough!

walking lines if you zoom in some are driving and all go back to the camp where some Beer may have consumed :p Rule 1. No drinking until gold is found rule 2. Look for gold 3. count your gold 4. Drink until you carn't count no more :) rule 5. go back and repeat :)

Asking for just an area seems a bit redundant. If it's like Hill End or Ballarat you have learned nothing because it is common knowledge that these are gold bearing areas. ;)

I would never ask, as much as I want the easy route. As others have said, they put a lot of time and effort into research.

Its nothing to do with an "easy route." Sure if i gave the coordinates then that makes it easy for somebody. All that was meant is a very general location, like the State, for education sake. All gold is different so its nice to know roughly where something came from. If your home State was in your profile then there would be no issue. Anyway i said my piece.

Interesting exchange of ideas on this topic.

As a newbie I have NOT asked others exactly where they find gold, but I have asked for advice on how to improve my technique, what gear should I use or buy and even questions about the 'science' of creeks and gold resting places.

My new friends and co-prospectors on this forum have been outstanding in sharing knowledge and sometimes they offer information rather than wait for me to ask.

I guess if I ask someone for details of a particular site and they tell me to F***^ off , I will not be upset but might kick myself for stretching the friendship.

I know that next year I am going to travel from Qld to Victoria to have a fossick and will probably seek advice on this forum...equally of anyone was heading this way from another domicile I would probably want to steer them in a useful direction.

The thing that makes this forum outstanding is the willingness of members to share and advise....please don't stop that .

I don't care I'll share where I found my last , every flag a nugget the exact location :)

I'm with you cobber - nobody can expect to get it all eh! and nobody will. Consider the torrential rain across the South East of the continent this last week and with flooding in many places relandscaping the terrain then it could really be considered new ground again eh!

PS: south side of Secret Hill, Waanyarra still delivers AU, also don't ignore the shallow diggings mullock piles... good luck

One of my mates showed a bloke a patch, not his patch, just a patch.
, and shotgun with them, they have ok intentions, pan a bit, shoot a goose for the fire, goose shooters leave a lot of steel shot all over the place.

Seen a lot of geese around here - do u have a good recipe to cook them - I didn't think they were good eating?

Goose rendang, very gamey meat, red meat. I cant eat it by its self, needs to be in a curry or stew imo.

Myself I wouldn't post my good patches for all to see but happy to share with like minded and like sharing detecting buddies. Sharing with the ones you get out regularly with is a great way to build good friendships. The friends you build during detecting adventures is important to me. Nothing better than catching up and sharing experiences, finds, techniques, research, spots.
Mind you, to be honest, if I had a real good spot and still producing I'd keep that to myself. However, I'm yet to find a spot like that. Can't wait for the day.

As I said in the first instance ,, I am NOT talking about EXACT Locations !

If you don't want exact locations then why bother asking in the first place?
I don't think you're being honest with yourself or us.
I take offense at your ASSumption !
Take another look at the first post in this thread !

Where you found your Gold ? Is this question "unethical"? Is there some unwritten law/rule about this ?

I ask this because , I have come across some very rude people that answer "NSW or NT etc "
I dont want GPS marks , just a general locality . I know myself , that I am willing to answer something like , " At Hillend or Orange etc "
Why do some people act so secretively ? Are they really that paranoid they think others might find "their patch" by just saying in what "general" area they found it ?
I know this forum shares info pretty well ,,, but by Jesus , some of the Facebook Groups are agro about it .
.
.
I think every one that has comented on this topic should maybe give it another read ;)
And not take **** personal :( the quetion was not meant like most have taken it :|
Now I am far from being an overly intelligent person and often put my foot in my mouth and coment on these type of topics early .....not this time :|
Please Guys just calm down a little .
