Identify, Adapt, Overcome - a take on the us marine corp motto. Ive changed improvise to identify as its always been clear to me that locating the source of a problem is half the battle to finding the solution.

Ive also always liked - Those who dig deep holes should keep one eye on the sky.

A few from the animal world:

"Barking dogs don't bite people they don't know." --Unknown

"Money will buy you a pretty good dog,
but it won't buy the wag of his tail."--Josh Billings

"Every boy should have two things: a dog
and a mother willing to let him have one." --Anonymous

"If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you.
This is the principle difference between a dog and a man." --Mark Twain

And my favourite: "Every dog may have his day, but
it's the puppies that have the weekends." --Anonymous

Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci was always an inspiration to me, i can remember tracing his pictures in the library in primary school.

I found his logic and forward thinking was astounding for the renaissance period and even as a child his words were profound.

"He who loves practice without theory is like the sailor who boards ship without a rudder and compass and never knows where he may cast."
