Don't gain the world and lose your soul; wisdom is better than silver or gold.

I racked my brain all night- This is a line from Bob Marley-Zion Train. Maybe written by Peter Tosh.

spot on mate, powerful message i think

I just cranked up my Reggae playlist-first time in years. The messages of these old songs are still relevant today, if not more so.

Another timeless and profound classic from the music world.
Lynyrd Skynyrd- Things Goin' On.

Have you ever lived down in the ghetto?
Have you ever felt that cold wind blow?
If you don't know what I mean, won't you stand up and scream,
because there's things goin' on that you don't know.

Ask them what's been lost across the ocean.
Ask them what's been taken from the moon.
Well until they make thing right, lots of people gonna be uptight.
They better make some changes and do it soon.

Too many lives they've spent across the ocean.
Too much money's been spent upon the moon.
Well until they make it right, I hope they never sleep at night.
They better make some changes and do it soon.

They're gonna ruin the air that we breathe y'all.
They're gonna ruin us all by and by.
I'm tellin' all of you beware,
I don't think they really care.
I think they just sit up there and just get high.

Here's a verse from WB Yeats (1910), who liked a drink.

All wine comes in at the mouth
and love comes in at the eye;
that's all we shall know for truth
before we grow old and die.
I lift the glass to my mouth,
I look at you, and sigh.

Read from the back label of a very nice bottle of red; very fitting I thought,
Cheers, Ozzie.

Ten questions for work that matters
What are you doing that's difficult?
What are you doing that people believe only you can do?
Who are you connecting?
What do people say when they talk about you?
What are you afraid of?
What's the scarce resource?
Who are you trying to change?
What does the change look like?
Would we miss your work if you stopped making it?
What do you stand for?
What contribution are you making?
Any question that's difficult to answer deserves more thought. Any answers that are meandering, nuanced or complex are probably a symptom of something important.

I'll quote Mrs Silver," If you don't start cooking now, we'll be eating at 8 o'clock. " (ha)

.... and 3 from Douglas Adams:

A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

It is a mistake to think you can solve major problems with just potatoes.

It is no coincidence that in no known language does the phrase: 'As pretty as an Airport' appear.

..... and (unknown source):

People say that its "Quality not Quantity", but I know that Quantity has a Quality all of its own.
